Hope things get better for him. I had an encounter with him on a car rental bus after the BC in 2002. He was heading back to CA - he was grinning ear to ear talking about Starine win...he was

Get well Bobby!

Where are you getting this info that he is battling Lymphoma? The article makes no such statement. It states"an undisclosed illness".

It is common knowledge on the backside here at Hollywood Park that he has lymphoma.

I saw him at Keeneland and he looked good.If he has the same type of lymphoma I had{Hodgkins}He should be okay.Chemo isn't as bad as it used to be,and there is a 97% success rate of full recovery.

Here's an idea " Rupert ".......why don't you give your real name on this forum so that you can be held accountable for going to internet message boards and reporting " common racetrack rumors " about people's personal health....." rumors " that the person involved clearly didn't want reported in the DRF.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

You have a point but I didn't think it was a big deal since everyone on the backside already knows about it. I figured I would give the members of this board the same information that everyone on the backside has.

It was reported in the DRF that he is sick. Would it be so much better for everyone hear to be guessing what illness he might have?

You and Andy make a good point. I probably should have just provided the link to the article and not commented on the specific illness.

Just change your moniker to your real name.

If the guy has cancer he and his family are entitled to a bit of privacy even if he is a public figure. Hopefully he gets well from whatever is ailing him. He is a terrific trainer, a HOF trainer the sport is certainly better off with a sound Frankel.

Maybe the guy who claimed he had a source in the Frankel barn would have filled us in. Some folks on this forum jump to all sorts of conclusions regarding the health of racing personalities. Jess Jackson looked thin after the Preakness, and some here were ready to start digging his grave.

Let me start by wishing Frankel the best. I'm certainly a fan of his.

However, and certainly not unfortunately, we live in an era were information is much more easily disseminated than ever before. So, if Frankel and his family want to keep his condition a secret, they would need to go out of their way to let as few know as possible. Probably a good idea to limit this to family members. Quite of few public figures have 'figured' this out, though not exactly in a timely manner.

If it's around the backstretch, then why would anyone take offense if it reaches the web? And requiring that one needs to first reveal his/her identity before disseminating something that, apparently in this case, quite a few already know really goes against all those 'anonymous sources' that are the staple of many of our news (sports, entertainment, etc.) stories.

Yes, the entirety of the Internet is but a mere tributary of the Hollywood Park barn area.

What I think most people took offense to was the self-serving manner in which this thread was started, setting up a "straw man" (ie the DRF article) easily knocked down with the juicy insider info.

Its like if I started a thread with a link to an article about the Michael Jackson autopsy coming back without a cause of death, but prefacing it with, "Died of food poisoning. Ate ten year old weiner."

On another internet message board ,a poster posted that an" LA radio program announced on the air Frankel was sick with lymphoma.
So, it seems this information is not as hush-hush as posters here would like to think
