Default Tom Ridge

Ridge claims in his new book that when he was the head of the Homeland Security Department in 2004, members of the Bush Administration asked him to raise the threat level in the country simply because it would help them win the election.

Wow...what a shock. I love how stuff like this becomes news....five years after anybody that was paying attention already knew it was true.

He's got to make a push for sales somehow.

Pretty amazing if true. We'll see.

Did you guys see what good ol' Rep. Barney Frank did at his town hall meeting?

Tom Ridge is finished in the political arena. All he did was make an assumption and failed miserably in doing so.

Although he could be a mildly successful palm reader in Berkeley.

are we at orange or yellow now? or blue? and which is worse?

the whole "terrorist threat" level was just another panic induced bad idea by the bush admin. this one at least was just stupid and ineffective. it doesn't carry the stench of tragedy their other decisions did.

bush's domestic security advisor frances townsend has confirmed ridge was asked to raise the level in the weeks leading up to the election, though she denies politics played any role.

so ridge may want to sell his book. but he's also clearly telling the truth.

  1. It was on the eve of the 2004 election
  2. He claims Rumsfeld and Asscroft tried to pressure him
  3. Townsend said he was clearly not pressured
  4. Ridge claimed Rumsfeld was distant...this is what women say.
  5. The intelligence was 3 to 4 years old but we are dealing with sleeper cells
  6. It concerned the banking sector which was under attack but in a different way
  7. Tom Ridge is creepy looking
  8. And a douche
  9. And fat
  10. And the color code wasn't changed before the election
  11. Because Ridge's fat rolls would thwart any attack

The Mountaineer Gaming people named a stakes race after Tom Ridge at Presque Isle Downs ...

That will never not be funny.

But hey, they named the biggest stake race of the entire meet after a freaking golf tournament.
