Diaz/Malinaggi fight...........
Did anyone see this fight the other night? Houston Texas was the site (Diaz hometown) I like Juan Diaz he seems like a nice kid. But Paulie Malanaggi in my opinion totally out boxed him the majority of the bout. One judge (also from Texas) had it for Diaz 118-110, a total JOKE! I am not saying Diaz didn't land some shots, he did but for the most part Paulie was sticking and moving, and was very speedy with his punches, and out threw and boxed Juan. All 3 judges had it for Diaz, only 1 judge had it a close fight it was nuts! That's the kind of decision that gives legit boxing a bad name, not suprising that it happened, but it pisses me off that it has happened again! If anyone saw it, would like to see other thoughts?

Was a great fight. No matter how big the gash was in Diaz' eye from the inadvertant headbutt, he kept pluggin along. I winced everytime they loaded that thing up with the vaseline. I agree that Malanaggi won the match, but he couldve closed the door a few times, but instead he let it get closer than it should have been. If only Malanaggi listened to his corner man, the scorecard wouldnt have mattered.

It was....
A great fight Delcan, but that score 118-112 for Diaz is an disgrace you know? Paulie was the better boxer, he made Juan chase him too much for Juan to consistantly land his shots. Like I said I like Juan he does keep plugging for sure, the decision just stunk in my opinion. Paulie was hot barking and hot doggin too much, maybe that played in the decision? I thought he got robbed though.

The same time that HBO was showing the fight - a younger Diaz from 2002 was on ESPN classic fighting a former Mountaineer Park security guard.

It could have went either way. There were several rounds (I saw at least 3, possibly 4) that could've went either way.
115-113: Totally agree 116-112: Borderline agree, but a somewhat surprising score 118-110: Absolutely atrocious It was a good fight nonetheless. Enjoyed watching it. I like Malignaggi, but his post-fight rant was way too much. Yes, he was up against it (Diaz' hometown, Texas judges, etc.), but to whine and complain like he did was classless. If he can't handle it, find another job.

I also agree that the 1 judge who scored the bout lopsided needs to be removed. The 116-112 posted by the other judge is questionable (maybe even highly questionable), but as close as the fight was, he shouldn't be banned. Suspended -- maybe. But not banned.
