Wagner to Red Sox
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...sox/index.html
Good move by Boston to shore up bullpen and potentially get better not only this year but in the future. Claimed Wagner on waivers, worked out a deal with him and Mets to waive no-trade clause, agreed not to pick up his $8 million dollar option and if they offer him arbitration (which they will because he will turn them down to go somewhere else to close again) they are entitled to draft picks for losing him. All this for middling prospects and a month and a half of salary. |

before the trade i thought this was another sitcking point? on espn i read he didn't want them to pick up his option and didn't want them to send him to arbitration, thus diriving up his price for another potential team next year. -bt- |
