Default Rachel Alexandra and Sea The Stars

Take these 2 horses since the start of May. Brilliant!

1st May - Rachel wins the Ky Oaks by an easy 20L.
2nd May - Sea The Stars wins the 2000 Guineas by 1 1/2 lengths from Delagator with a trio of G1 winners behind.

16th May - Rachel takes on the boys in the Preakness and beats the Derby winner et al by a fast diminishing length.
6th June - Sea The Stars steps up half a mile to win the Derby by 1 3/4 lengths from Fame and Glory.

27th June - Rachel beats 2 rivals by 19 3/4 lengths and more in the Mother Goose.
4th July - Sea The Stars takes on older horses for the first time and wins the Eclipse by a length from Rip Van Winkle with a BC Turf winner 5 1/2 lengths behind.

2nd August - Rachel takes on the boys again in the Haskell Invitational and beats Belmont winner Summer Bird by 6 lengths.
18th August - Sea The Stars takes on 3 Coolmore horses in the Juddmonte International and beats Mastercraftsman by a length in record time.

5th September - Sea The Stars takes on 5 Coolmore horses in the Irish Champion Stakes and beats Fame and Glory and Mastercraftsman by 2 1/2 and 5 lengths respectively.
5th September - Rachel takes on all comers and becomes the first filly to win the Woodward beating Macho Again by a head.

Its been a privilege to see both horses in the flesh. Those that were at Leopardstown and Saratoga yesterday know they were witnessing a true superstar.

Now if only there was a race where both of them could race against each other???

I know who I would bet on at 10 furlongs on an equal surface, but on dirt its a whitewash.

My gut feeling is that STS is only about 30% likely to turn up at Santa Anita. If he does go to the Arc and win it, it would be very tempting to stop at that and proclaim the horse as the best horse in 20+ years. If he skips the Arc, I could see him shipping... The way he runs suggests he would have no difficulties running on any surface..

She isn't running in the Arc this year, anyway. He isn't doing any running next year.
