Who'd have thought Lewis Michael would ever turn up on a list of top anything....besides a list of horses I thought were significantly better than they actually were.

Midnight Lute has defeats in races won by Daahar and Lewis Michael sandwhiched in between two awesome BC Sprint wins.

That's like blowing out the Saints and Ravens but losing to the Lions and Browns.

While it's true that I have no life ... there's no way in hell I'm going to go through all the Calder 2yo races run this decade to find the fastest ones at each distance.

They run a million 2yo races there.

I know for certain Trust N Luck (110) has clearly the fastest 2yo race at CRC this decade. I would have also bet anything that Barbaro has clearly the fastest turf figure there .. but I just rememberd that his huge win at CRC came on Jan 1st.

Peace Rules was a beast on turf, which is why his BC Mile was such a disappointing flop. Incidentally, I'd like to challenge anyone to find a single trainer with three 3YO's at the same time that were as good as Peace Rules, Empire Maker, and Ghostzapper like Frankel had in '03.

Barbaro ran a 100 in that CRC Derby if I remember correctly.

If Flame Thrower has the highest Beyer for a flat mile at Santa Anita, shouldn't Street Cry have the second highest? He was only a neck back in the Norfolk.

How about DW Lukas with Serena's Song, Thunder Gulch, and Timber Country in '95.

Excellent group... I wasn't a huge fan of Timber Country, and he didn't race after the Preakness because of that high fever. Loved Thunder Gulch though and Serena's is pretty obvious. Tough call between those two threesomes.

Agree on Peace Rules and Frankel's squad in '03. Barbaro's Calder race was a 100 BSF but it was Jan 2, technically 2 days past the cutoff for the topic.

I can safely say, as a Cubs fan, there's always next year.
