Default PBS-The National Parks

America's Best Idea

5 shows, about 10 hours total, worth the time.

Very good. A bit preachy when it comes to business....aka quite liberal without apology with the way the material comes across....just an FYI.

i get that.

it made a point about the tension between the american drive for extraction of valuable resources and the american drive to preserve unique landscapes (and later important environments).

and there's no doubt about which drive was labeled a higher one.

on the other hand, i'm pretty happy that 120 years ago someone decide it was worthwhile that i would get to enjoy an unspoiled wilderness if i chose to go to the trouble.

I didn't say I disagreed with the tenor of it, more so that I would rather have a non preachy film.

TR, john muir and 1 reporter on horse back "gone for a ride" in the park and came back 3-4 days later. NO secret service, No reporter train. try that trick today.
