Thumbs down stewards too harsh here

stumbled across this pic at yahoo sports. horse finished first and is disaqualified to last...pretty harsh call but a good photo.

Sumi, I have to agree with the call. The horse passed the finish, but did not fully pass the finish. The entire length of the horse's body didn't cross it....But I will say had I bet that horse, that would be one of the worst beats of all time.

I saw that race too. That horse was ALL OVER the track. He even bothered another horse early in the race. At first, I was surprised when they took him down(I mean tossed completely out), but after watching the replays, Lezcano did jump ship before the horse completely cross the finish line.( I can't blame him for doing it, the horse was bolting quickly toward the OUTER RAIL at the time!). Didn't get the win but the horse was much the best. If he runs straight next time, should come back a winner( officially).
