Default Looking for a miracle

I'm considering coming to the Breeder's Cup Saturday card. Will be alone since wife will be laid up recovering form some minor surgery. Don't want to sit general admission, so I thought I would try here first.

Anybody end up with access to a single seat that I might be able to purchase? Would be nice to sit with someone from here and even get to meet some DT'ers...

Thanks in advance.

I'll tell you that there will be a ton of tickets floating around. My group (3-4) hasn't purchased yet, and we might wait since the only ones available direct aren't great.

I just saw some decent seats on ebay section 119 for $88. Face value for those are $80 I believe. Location is around the 1/16th pole.

Probably....if the 4th guy would go ahead and get off the fence, we might buy now.

All those ground level sections are tricky because they are mostly flat...meaning if you are 6 rows back good luck seeing anything other than the people in front of you. I actauuly sat in 119 for funny cides derby...didn't see the race til I got home and watched the dvr.

I have heard that too. The ones I saw on ebay evidently are row V. As you point out those bottom level sections aren't great so I suppose the 1/16th pole for $80 may not be that much better than the 1/4 pole for $60.
I'm in section 222 under cover and haven't seen too many of that section advertised at a reasonable price.

i changed jobs, so i don't have any vacation time. don't want to drive up on friday, and turn right back on sunday-just not in the mood for that. we originally were taking the whole next week off.

Yeah, I was in section 118 for the 2000 BC and we were lucky to see the toplines and heads of the horses. But I am only 5'6", after all. Your visibility may vary. We were also right under that stupid stretch camera on a cable that they had; it made a sound that made us jump every time they reset it.

Here are our crapola seats. Anyone know if they will keep people out of the aisle in front of us? I was worried about people in front of us too, more so for my wife who is 5'2"

thats why i never worry about seats, for most big events like this...i just go general admission. you can walk somewhere and probably see better anyway. "it takes dynamite to get me up.....too much of anything is just enough...one more thing i just have to say...i need a miracle everyday"!!!!!!!

Except for the fact that Churchill was brilliantly redesigned with no apron and the paddock area is very tiny.

If you're not P. Diddy ballin then there's a good chance you're getting fleeced for bad seats.

I sat in that row for the Ky Derby. Most people stand on the seats ( bleachers ) while the race is running. In between races everyone mills around. Bottom line is those are good seats and you should not have a problem with people standing in front of you. Enjoy.

i know you are right...but you read my mind too...i love the paddock area at every track. if i'm "on track' i want to see the horses. people will think i'm nuts. but i find the seats kind of boring.

It's sounding like I may end up doing this anyway. Won't know until Friday that the wife will be ok to leave in my son's care and that's really to late to set up anything. If someone ends up with a last minute back out, then I may be able to do that, but I really would like to have a table or a surface in front of me. Could be that I get there early enough to get a table or a shelf and just be happy with that.

Thanks for the input folks.
