I really thought Baffert would run First Dude in an allowance race first time for him. I guess he looked super training, and the purse is a big motivator also. Or does Dizney demand running First Dude in stakes only?

I agree. These days, there is very little difference between grade one races and allowance races. Might as well roll the dice big. Why waste one of a horse's six starts on a meaningless race?
