He didn't work over the weekend or early this week so there was some chance he wasn't doing real good.

I like the "we scratched out of the Hutcheson because of the post" excuse, as opposed to the "we scratched because he looked like beat up hamburger after he trained the morning of the race" truth.

And, for dessert, the horse isn't off the Derby Trail (that sort bad news sticks in the minds of breeders when the horse is retired at the end of the year) because "he was never on the Derby Trail". Yeah, because if he had won the Gotham (or the Hutcheson as originally planned), we wouldn't have seen him in a prime Derby prep next out.

This guy can't admit or concede to anything.
