Clarence Clemons has suffered a serious stroke......
Clarence Clemons has indeed suffered a "serious stroke," Bruce Springsteen wrote on Backstreets.com Tuesday.
Reports that described his deficits Sunday were posted in various threads on E-Street's web site that CC has improved over the last 24 hours thankfully giving his family and legion of fans hope for significant recovery. Backstreets reports via family members that "His vital signs are improving and he's more responsive... He was paralyzed on his left side, but now he's squeezing with his left hand following two surgical procedures." At 69 years of age The Big Man continues to amaze despite fighting serious health problems evident during the grind of the last tour of 2009-2010. An awesome talent who despite soon to turn 70 in January continues to add greatly to E-Streets energy and on stage magic despite long ago meeting criteria for the senior tour of rock and roll. Hopefully his gains will continue steadily.... |

Just when a legion of young, non-E Street fans were getting to know him due to his work with Lady Gaga. Best wishes to the Big Man for a speedy recovery.

Clarence died tonight at about 7:00 p.m., according to backstreets. Phenomenal artist, and he will be missed.

Wow, that's terrible. I was lucky enough to see him interviewed after he played the National Anthem for the Florida Marlins opening night back in April. He was great musically and in good spirits.
My condolences go out to his family and the entire E-Street family...... |

E Street died with the passing of CC last night, a musical loss that will take years to appreciate and understand.
To think that we will never again hear those live signature sax solos or enjoy watching a fully intact E Street, though sans Danny F, perform as the hardest working rock and roll band of the last generation brings more sadness than I have room to handle....This was one of the good guys and he is gonna leave a permanent scar of sadness in me with his passing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7a9SiPcOa8 |

I got to see the band twice on the last tour in November 2009. On the floor in Baltimore on 11/20/09 is a night any Springsteen fan in attendance won't soon forget.
