For the Queen's Plate, horses 1-3 will be placed in the aux. gate. All others will start from Gate 2 (main).

Stupid Question, but why isnt The Queens Plate graded? Isn't it Woodbine's premier 3 year old race?

It's the world's oldest "state-bred" race. Not the oldest race on the continent though, as Keeneland's Phoenix Stakes takes that honor.

QP doesn't seem to have any early speed. These poly track affairs often seem to be a cavalry charge at the end. Wonder if the track is wide enough for 17 abreast? Should be interesting to watch.
