Default Latest CD's

Pearl Jam-surprisingly good.
better than anything they have done since Vitalogy,
and that was a long time ago.
did not think they had it in them, but was glad to be wrong.
Its not TEN or even VS, but it is really good music that jams at times which is more than what I can say about Riot Act, Lost Dogs, Binaural, Yield, and No Code.

Red Hot Chili Peppers-wtf are they thinking?
further away from the punk/funk/rap/rock style than ever before.
was slow and really mello for much of the 2 albums.
it sucks b/c I think they were close to their best sound ever in By The Way, which was their previous album.
cant believe they waited all this time, put together a double disc, and then came up with this.

Audioslave-not bad.
better then Out of Exile(2nd album) but nothing close to as good as their debut album.
the debut album was a pure rock/metal album that will go down in history as one of the best of all time.
this album has some of that, but they seem to diverge into somewhat of a punk sound at times, and it does not work for them.
still some really songs though.

I need to get the new Bob Dylan CD. will let you guys know what I think when I do.

Have got the Bob Dylan CD myself, and obviously it's an album that everyone needs to listen to. Worth the long wait, and no doubt that its only going to improve with repeated listening.

Couple of other names for you which you may or may not have heard of. The Infadels, only just discovered them and they soon became the soundtrack to my summer! Also The Organ, all female Canadian band with more than a passing resemblance to The Smiths.

LOL, I start singing "Summer Wind" the first warm day of summer.

Not sure if the exact name, but I bought it at FYE. It is mostly is earlier works that you don't hear so much. They have some great box seats though.

Bellamy,
You're right about Corrine Bailey Rae. I was salty that I didn't get to see her in concert when she came to MPLS last month... but it was mainly because I didn't have a lovely lady to accompany me. She is very good. If you guys wanna sample some of her stuff-

Just saw The Pope of Greenwich Village last week...the movie ends with a New York street scene..and Sinatra signing Summer Wind. The song will stay with you for a while..

lol,
Im kind of slow to come around to things.
i keep hearing iggy talking about a blackberry or something on TVG and I dont even know what the hell it is.
I barely know how to use half of the features on my cell phone.

I really only listen to music when Im driving so cds are fine with me.
anyone who has lived in TX knows there can be plenty of time spent on the road and a good cd collection is essential.

Anyone heard the new Bob Seger (without the Silver Bullet Band) CD yet?
It's better than his last two.

Recently got the Rushmore Records twin disk compilation "Listen to Bob Dylan" with a number of their slightly obscure artists covering 20+ tracks.. IT'S FABULOUS... Can't recco enough..

Repent, I have heard the same thing, and it is darcy, james, jimmy and billy....it should be an awesome CD if he goes back to old school pumpkins and not the love/peace crap, one, two songs max of that. Give me some Rage in a Cage or anything on Siamese any day of the week

Smashing Pumpkins Reunion Is Under Way, According To Sources

Rumors of a Smashing Pumpkins reunion have been rife ever since bandleader Billy Corgan took out a full-page ad in a Chicago newspaper saying he wants the group to re-form. And according to onetime Pumpkins bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur as well as a source close to the situation, the rumors are true.

In fact, Auf Der Maur said Corgan has been working on material that will, at some point, surface in the form of a new Smashing Pumpkins album.

"From what I understand, Billy [will be] making a Pumpkins record over the next little while," Auf Der Maur told MTV News last week. "Everyone knows Billy doesn't need too many people to make a Pumpkins record, other than Jimmy [Chamberlin, longtime Pumpkins drummer] who he has [on board]."

A spokesperson for Azoff Management confirmed Thursday (February 2) that Corgan and Chamberlin have signed on with the firm as Smashing Pumpkins, and that the two are writing new music. A source close to the situation told MTV News that the duo plan to record over the summer and that the new Pumpkins could surface before the end of the year however, no definitive plans are set.

Auf Der Maur said she's not sure whether Corgan has reached out to guitarist James Iha or bassist D'Arcy Wretzky to complete the band's original lineup, but she said she's told Corgan that she'd be happy to pitch in if he needs her; Auf Der Maur replaced Wretzky in 1999 and worked with the group until it disbanded in 2000 (see "Pumpkins Circus Folds Up With Epic Show").

YES YES YES

thanks for the article.
that was at the start of the year so hopefully something has come of it.

Jimmy went with Corgan to Zwan didnt he?
I thought he was part of the band along with the guitarist from Perfect Circle and a couple of others.
Zwan was a great album and I was p*ssed when that did not last.
The song "Lyric" stands right alongside any of the great Pumkins singles.

SPumpkins needs to be back together. they were so good for so long and although they stumbled a bit with "Adore", they picked it right back up with their final album "Machines of God".
most ppl dont agree, but Machines of God was some of their best work,
there is not a bad song on the album and it is a return to their metal/rock days of Gish as much as anything.

I think Siamese Dream will always be their best album, but Machines of God ranks a close 2nd to me.

'Pent...

I agree with you on this one. I got Audioslaves new CD and while it is ok...it still does not touch the work they did from their debut album. That CD just plain kicked ass.
