Glad to see Good Lord winning stakes still this year.
Tom Shank, his owner, is a very nice man I've known from KY Downs for years. I remember him being excited about Good Lord before he ever went to the track. Always good to see the common man have a decent horse, in this sport of kings. He bred two of his back yard mares to Smart Strike before the sire hit it big. Neither of which ever made the races. Every time Curlin, Fab Strike, or English Channel would win a stake, He would laugh and say he had the only two Smart Strikes on the planet that couldn't run. |
