A Jesuit who takes Francis and not Ignatius is suspect.

One with a history of being anti-gay marriage, anti-abortion and anti-contraceptives should do wonders for bringing new members to the church.

Hmm Francis as in Francis of Assisi, as in Saint of animals. Maybe he's a horse guy? Argentina bred as well.

And some still wonder why I won't be at church this w/e?

Wonder why it rained once Jorge took the name Francis?

why? st francis xavier was also a founder of the jesuit order.and of course he's anti- all those things. the church he works for is as well. he wouldn't have moved up thru the ranks if he wasn't.

This is obviously tongue in cheek, because I know that you didn't honestly think that the pope was going to be pro-gay marriage, pro-abortion, or pro-contraception.

From a guy who did 9 years under Franciscan rule followed by 4 under Jesuit rule it was. BTW those last 4 were extra tough going to an all-boys high school.

When I got out I vowed never to be back. It's been over 30 years and only recently I reaffirmed my decision when I found out a Priest who lied to everyone who would listen about his high school dating years with Ann Margaret as a reason why he can remain celibate was found to be living in the closet as a homosexual, molesting young men he was supposed to be teaching. And he was the President of the school. All why he was preaching the sins of homosexuality.

I'm amazed at how the media immediately jumped on what they 'hope' the Pope will represent rather than 'fact' of what the Pope has always represented BBP (before becoming pope)
