Default In anticipation of Mad Men's 5th season

A neat collection of photos of NYC in the 1960s and 1970s:

Ah, Spring. Derby preps, Game of Thrones and Mad Men. Truly a surfeit of riches.

Enjoyed the first Game of Thrones book, but have not seen any of the Tv series. Might have to download some from Amazon to take with me on my trip to Vegas for viewing on the plane along with a few movies I haven't seen yet.

It's a really good series. I read the books after getting hooked on the show. Then went back and watched season one again, and I think it's even better if you've read the books. Season One is Book One.

I liked the first 3 books a lot; the 4th and 5th are a bit draggy. And not in the Ru Paul way.

I saw a series on Net Flicks a couple of weeks ago called World Without End which was based on a book by Ken Follett of the same name and was a sequel to another book by him called Pillars of the Earth. I think it was an English production. Most of the actors were English except for Cynthia Nixon of Sex and the City fame. It was set in the Middle Ages. Cynthia was deliciously evil in it as were a lot of the other characters. I thought it was pretty good.

I'll check it out. I'm a sucker for period dramas. Which is probably why I torture myself with Downton Abbey season after season.

Unless they're blond rednecks who use crossbows to kill zombies, but that's a fairly specific niche.
