Default BELMONT: Wed., 10/4

It's a fun and tricky card at Belmont today, and that means potential for some prices on top and underneath.. I didn't "cap" it, but the 3rd is the actual feature Wednesday with several top quality sprinters contesting the )C/N3X. Mach Speed and Callmetony figure to be best, but Mike Trombetta sends Procreate in, and the Dutrow entry of Bucharest/Mr. Whitestone is OK. Should be a good one...

LATE NOTE: Turns out that there is a $60,000 carryover today! A bit curious as it looked like the "6" had paid Sunday when I looked at it on DRF's results... In addition, BRISnet's Handicapper's Edge DOESN'T list it as a Carryover on their alert page.. Changes didn't affect our selections, so let's add an <$100 P6 play to today's stabs! (See below)...

SELECTIONS -- Belmont Park, October 4, Races 4-9 (P6, Late P4, Grand Slam, Rolling P3's, Middle/Late DD)

4th: CLM, F&M-3+, 8.5f-T (P6, P3, Superfecta)

1. #10 Sky 2-1: Clement returns Gomez and offers Menifee red 'First for tag" 2nd
2. #1 Irish Ballerina 4-1: Barbera has been murder naming Johnny V. WON @ 4-1
A. #9 Flying Corsyd 20-1: A rare Sedlacek plus stat is with layoff runners
B. #4 Psychotic Lady 15-1: Bay's best fig for Crazy Joe was one BEL sod

LONGSHOT/SUPER ADD: #3 Engy's River Song (15-1) gets Coa, can stay in touch with field..

5th: CLM/N3L, 3+, 6f (Grand Slam, P3)

Attempt to beat the favorite from Violette (Psychotic Reaction) fails as Rappers Deelite gets caught in the last 100 yards ending the P6, and P3, punts...

1. #3 Mumbles 7-2: Levine adds main man Coa; 5yo may finally be healthy 4th
2. #2 Honest Expectation 15-1: Tesher bay stunned 9/14; Has had time
A. #6 Rappers Deelite 8-1: Rice runner may be circling back to spring efforts 3rd
B. #5 Golden Trieste 8-1: Back after 16 months and working steadily

A. #8 Dixieland Squall 6-1: Contessa red by Summer Squall cuts back WON

LONGSHOT NOTE: #10 Hali Sings (15-1) from Ferraro adds Lasix in 2nd start; goes MSW to MCL and caught sealed slop in debut. First time on a fast track with those other karma moves can be a bomb formula...

1. #2 THE SHAUGHRAUN 12-1: Day's best value can score repeating 8/5 try
2. #6 Oh My Stars 5-2: Hushion bay a threat for 9/13 wire job redux

8th: ALW/N1X, NYB-3+, 6f-T (DD, Superfecta)

#1 Democrat is the key here trying turf first time.. Is simply faster than those signed on, and will be tough to beat if lawn to his liking.. Sire A.P. Jet hits 7.8% first time turf (8.2% with his turf runners overall), while trainer Hushion wins 14% trying barn on grass.. Your call..

1. #5 Boggy Creek Dancer 8-1: Nice price on grey that had no shot last (#11)
2. #4 Whenluvcomestotown 12-1: "..I'm gonna, catch that train.."

B. #8 Jackie K 12-1: Paraneck Danzatame miss showed speed last out
C. #3 Karakorum Knockout 6-1: Move inside could boost Good and Tough bay

<$25 P3:

4: 1-9-10
5: 3-6
6: 1-2-3-8

3x2x4 = $24

<$50 P4:

6: 2-3
7: 2-6
8: 1-3-4-5-9-10
9: 5-10

2x2x6x2 = $48

<$100 P6:

4: 1
5: 3-6
6: 2-3-8-10
7: 2
8: 3-4-5
9: 5-10

1x2x4x1x3x2 = 48 x $2 = $96

Good luck!
Steve

Lucky Straight will spice up the exoctics in the 7th. Key off his May 18th race and he is good enough to be underneath in this race. This horse loves Belmont. He will be a huge price based on his efforts at Delaware, but I have seen him run at both tracks and he was simply spinning his wheels there. He moves like a different animal at Belmont.

He is the poor mans....and I mean INCREDIBLY POOR MANS Silver Train

Lucky Straight finishes 3rd at 33-1 to spice up the trifecta...just like ole GPK said he would. Was actually moving well at the turn, but was forced to check. Wasn't gonna catch the winner, but may have given the place horse a better run.
