This is probably Thanksgiving Thread #7, but it's always great to share our thoughts for this special Holiday.. Best wishes to everyone and their families for a joyful Thanksgiving. No matter how difficult things may be in anyone's particular situation, in racing or the greater scope, there are plenty of blessings for which we should be thankful. Enjoy the holiday no matter where you are or what your doing. Be kind to each other and those with whom you share the day.

Same to you Steve - a happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, and to all the Derby Trailers here. I hope everybody's loved ones and friends who are travelling today arrive safely in spite of the weather affecting most of the country.

Joe

As the John Adams figure here that I may be, I love this country and the spirit of Thanksgiving. God Bless everyone.

I hope everyone has something to be thankful for this thanksgiving whether it be big or small.

And safe travels to all hitting the road.

Sometimes it's hard to be thankful when life hands you some difficulties. Saw this yesterday and find it inspiring:

Will be a bittersweet one for us as my dad's younger brother died last month after years of ill health. He came up to Grantville during this past summer for a week with my aunt (his sister) and they went out to Penn National the first night he was there. He loved the racetrack, the Beatles and Scottie terriers. Not necessarily in that order.

Cherish every moment with those you love. Safe travels and happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Thanksgiving holidays for me as a kid always involved the drive from Omaha to Minneapolis to spend it with my Dad's parents. My grandmother waited on me hand and foot for 3 days and my grandfather bitched about politicians and taxes. He couldn't believe that taxpayers were going to have to help fund the Metrodome. As a teenager, I would usually roll my eyes and chuckle when he would go on one of those rants.

Boy, did he have it right. The older I get, the wiser he actually was.

Still have many things to be thankful for...........happy and healthy to all!!!

Was trying to explain this movie to a 24 year old a week ago. Nor really easy to get across! Classic

Coldest day of the season so far down here; had to turn the heat pump on, and the cats didn't want to go out (of course, the turkey defrosting in the kitchen might have something to do with that). Wishing all DT'ers a happy and safe turkey day.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I'm so glad no matter the administration or the state of the country we have never had our family Thanksgiving marred by political discussions or grumbling. Hey it is about giving thanks and enjoying the family plus watching some football!
