Queens horse, Estimate, positive for morphine
No drugs in Europe, none at all. MORPHINE!!
(And I know all about the contiminated feed story over there) I blame one of the lads from here that was tryin to cash a bet!

My first thought when reading this was that I couldn't believe this wouldn't be covered up. If they won't cover it up for the queen, it gives you hope that they don't cover up for anyone.

Apparently they believe it was due to contaminated feed. This isn't the first time I've heard of this this year. Wasn't an American horse discovered to have the same situation? Contaminated feed leading to a morphine positive so the trainer wasn't penalized? Obviously other horses would've gotten it in their system and just happened not to be tested because they either didn't win or weren't randomly selected. I get that DQ's stand because the horse still had morphine in their system even if it was unintentional, but is there a way for trainers to be sure this isn't happening with their feed? Is it apparent without testing the grain (smell or something)? I assume the owners can sue the feed company for the lost purse money.
