Default measles outbreak

this is so absurd. measles was considered 'eradicated' in the us back in 2000.
in other countries, kids die because there are no vaccines. here, kids get sick and some die because their parents are idiots.

the 'doctor' that the graduate of the 'university of google', jenny mcarthy likes to cite-his paper and his 'study' were completely discredited.

That's one of my favorite web pages.

Lately a statement Roald Dahl made in 1988, two years before he died, about the death of his daughter from measles in the early 1960s, has been making the rounds:

http://www.roalddahlfans.com/articles/meas.php

I wish I believed in hell, because it would be comforting to know there would a place waiting for "Dr." Andrew Wakefield.

Been waiting for a cancer vaccine, but once we get it, how many would refuse to take it?

30%? 40%? 50%?

I don't understand the feigned outrage from someone who is o.k. with abortion in pretty much any circumstance.

It just screams of pure idiocy to me...but I digress. Majority of liberals are overbearing extreme idiots who wish people would burn in hell.

Even though they're atheist scum. Stupid know-it-alls who want to control people no different than the imaginary conservative side they hate.

I'm absolutely fed up with control freaks. If people don't want their kids vaccinated it isn't any of your god-damned business. Blame it on your weak genetics if you get sick.

It's not like you morons appreciate life to begin with. Don't act like you do now.

Speaking of forcing people into something they don't want...

how about the school lunches and how they aren't fit for a dog?

Perfect storm for you scientific know-it-all libtards. What happens when malnourished children congregate together?

That's right. Disease. Don't act like you care. You elected the idiot twice.

if they came out with one, i'd be in line for it.
too bad people don't know their history and don't realize what it used to be like before vaccines.

Don't know but I'm sure it will be higher among men. And sorry but here comes a venting.

Had a good friend who for some time was ignoring symptoms of colon troubles, blood in stools, intermittent pain, only when he finally went in to the ER a colonoscopy revealed colon cancer however because of his colon's condition it had leaked causing sepsis putting a strain on his kidneys and liver.

He got over the sepsis or so they thought and started chemo to treat the colon cancer. His body immediately rejected the chemo, his kidneys stopped working and he suffered irreparable liver damage. His best outcome at that time was to get the kidneys working enough to allow chemo in an attempt to rid himself of cancer only to get on a liver transplant list.

It didn't work and two weeks ago to this day he was moved home and given one to two months to live. Perhaps for the best he lasted only two days, one taking visitors and the last day sleeping. He was only 46 and was one of those great guys you luckily meet from time to time. His nickname 'EZ' said it all.

Ladies and gentlemen especially the latter, visit a Dr. when you know something is wrong and take no day for granted.

RIP Eric 'EZ' Cowley

Dell, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. That stinks.

F*ck cancer.

Thanks Nicole, I think one of the hardest things was him writing on his own facebook page that Dr.'s had just told him he had 1 to 2 months to live and he was headed home to plan his funeral and get his financials in order. He ended with only 'unbelievable'.

When I saw him the day he got home it was apparent it was going to be days and not months. At least he got to spend his last two days on earth at home, looking out at the forest that served as his backyard, surrounded by family and friends including his best friend Lulu, his dog, who he hadn't seen in 6 weeks. And somehow it felt more like a coming home party rather than funeral or wake.

He did somehow die with a smile on his face and it was apparent he was at peace on his last day. But that wasn't surprising considering it was Captain EZ!

I'm glad he was able to leave this world surrounded by those who loved him. I think it's the best gift we can give people we love as they leave us- knowing they were loved while they were here. An aunt of mine died in '08 from breast cancer and when I visited her for the last time, she told me how the hospice worker, after yet another day filled with friends coming to visit her, commented, "Well, this is unusual. Usually they don't all show up until after you're gone."

(Off topic, but props to hospice. Our family is still friends with the hospice worker who worked with my mom, and that was over 30 years ago)

http://www.politico.com/blogs/media/...ou-202085.html

Rand Paul troll'd a senior editor of The Daily Beast.

Excellent work, Rand. These people are control freak lunatics. That boy for the Daily Beast should be beaten until he shuts up or at least learns that he is a beta male and that he isn't allowed to act like he can whoop anyone's ass.

And the funniest part about all of this is that a stunning percentage of anti-vaccine people are hardcore hipsters/liberals. I love it.

Eat your own. Nothing new under the sun.

I'd mention open borders being a contributing factor but that would be racist and if I said it on twitter I'd get death threats.

Totalitarians disguised as liberals.

How can they argue with settled science?

most schools require vaccines.

this is just totalitarian fear mongering from those that love being controlled.

What's most amusing is these progressives and their feigned outrage. Like in the grand scheme of things they want children to live.

Sure.

I happened to come across a well-reasoned portion of John Podhoretz' nationally syndicated column, with which I agree:

"The diseases for which we immunize babies and toddlers are airborne or communicated by casual contact.

Now, it’s true that keeping a proper balance between the rights of individuals and families in the private sphere and the obligations placed upon us as parts of a national whole is a core issue in a self-governing society like the United States.

The problem is that vaccination is the worst possible issue to stake a claim for the private sphere, because the only way societies can stamp out infectious diseases for which vaccines have been discovered is to insist that everybody get them.

This is the concept of “herd immunity”: No vaccine offers perfect protection, but if everyone is vaccinated, the few isolated cases won’t spread — and all cases will become exceedingly rare.

Thus, your supposed “right” not to vaccinate your child actually impinges on my child’s right to the promise in the Declaration of Independence of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

If my infant hasn’t yet been immunized and gets measles or mumps or whooping cough from your toddler, whom you chose not to immunize, he has been placed at unnecessary risk of loss of life.

You’d only choose not to immunize your child because you thought the risk to your child outweighed the possible good.

But in doing so, you’d be committing an act of thievery of a kind — stealing the herd immunity of others to secure the health of your child without doing a thing to extend it to others."

And people freaking about ebola, and demanding a vaccine....while a once eliminated, far more easily apread disease makes a comeback.
one of my pet peeves has always been poor kids paying for their parents stupidity.
far, far better chance of a kid getting sick because of no vaccine than from getting a vaccine.

Sure.

Sometimes science is ....well...just plain science.
And sometimes everything isn't false flag.

And MOST times, the obvious is...well... the obvious.

Keep opening your borders, without quarantine, and blame hippies for the resurgence of your eradicated pox. Pffft.
