Trainer obviously thinks Solis should of gotten the horse in a stalking position in that stakes he lost (after never getting a break up front.)Lets face it,he took the lead in a race where PVAL was on a "need the lead " Calbred Sprinter. So,you tell me if you would be happy about that decision making process. He needed the stalking trip that the winner ended up getting.Just so happens, that Victor's natural desired way of riding is to stalk in 2nd,3rd,or 4th,and attack coming out of the far turn. These are all good riders, but some guys prefer to ride in a way that just so happens to be the way your horse runs his best.To be honest,I think Victor would have been the better fit for Brother Derek as well.Trainers tend to think their great training job is enough to win with. They tend to think any decent jock can ride their horse. That can change when they see their horse get nipped on the wire(by a horse who got the trip that they would have preferred to have.)
