Default Santa Anita Showvivor starts Sept 26

Santa Anita's Fall Showvivor runs from Sept 26 through Oct 25. Format looks to be the same as the long winter/spring contest, but prize money is half what it was for that contest.

rules are at http://showvivor.santaanita.com/files/rules.pdf

Nice of them to throw up last years rules without changing dates.

You can't get 'em all unless you get the first one, good job!

A total of 2,871 people made picks today, I wonder how many were successful? 2700 or more? These "Super Saturday" days are always super chalky so it's no wonder. Everybody here made it, so let's keep up the good work!

2476 people got the show bet right. But "only" 1874 have a win streak going. And there is a mere 237-way tie for Total Places.

Race 1, Hurricane Callie

(I have a friend named Callie, and she's a southern hurricane, for sure.)

After the first 2 races

915 players got at least a "show"
26 got nothing.

Just 2323 made picks today, down 500 from yesterday. But almost half of them are already successful after the 1st 2 races.

My pick, Hurricane Callie, lost the photo for 1st by what literally looked like 1 inch. I don't think it could have been any closer without calling it a dead heat. That may end up being important, because 'most wins' is the tie-breaker for the show streak. And with only 19 racing dates in this Showvivor, more than one player will most likely finish with 19-in-a-row.

Sunday was definitely a much tougher day than Saturday, as the number of players with a perfect show streak was cut almost in half, from 2,476 to 1,289. The number of people who had back-to-back winners fell all the way from 1,874 all the way down to 190. I was lucky that my pick in the nightcap won his win photo, so I am one of the 190. It's still very early though, during the winter meet only two players made it through the first 19 days of the meet without missing. I fully expect at some point that a huge favorite will finish off the board, and that will thin the field considerably if it happens.
