Serious question...what time for 1 1/8th did Lady Eli need for a 110, or even a 115? Thanks in advance to the figure guys!

Figs are not made exclusively on time.. the other horses in the race are assigned figs as well so you need to gauge their previous capabilities and accomplishments. If LE had won by 8 lengths in that time she likely would have received a much higher fig. Figs are 80% science 15% art and 5% common sense

So would you call it more of a speed figure or a class figure?

While I understand Freddy's explanation, wouldn't that mean that Lady Eli would have had to run at least four to five ticks faster to get a high BSF?

Yes. That is where I'm at.

Here's four hypothetical situations that I'm looking for answers for from the Gamely in regards to BSFs...sorry, I can't learn crap unless I take a contrarian point view:
1. LE runs three ticks faster, but GYFR still finishes within a half-length and everyone else ends up not running any quicker. Same BSF or higher? 2. LE runs three ticks faster and beats GYFR by 3+ lengths with everyone else not running any quicker? Same BSF or faster? 3. LE runs the same exact time but GYFR finishes even with Avenge instead of a half length within LE an no one else runs any quicker/slower. Same BSF or faster or slower? 4. LE runs the exact same time, but beats GYFR by 3 lengths and and Avenge and the gang also run 3 lengths slower. Same BSF or faster or slower? Last edited by cakes44 : 05-29-2017 at 07:51 PM. |

I am hardily an expert. Assume Lady Eli ran the same time BUT won by 8 and assume they ran an Allowance race at similar or same distance that day and assume the allowance race had 5 together on wire with horses that had established form and figs that warranted a 92 fig. Now assume that the horse finishing 2nd and 3rd in Lady Elis race were established 98 fig horses and finished together (thereabouts) as she was 8 in front then the time and lengths won by would verify a fig outside her norm and would produce a higher measure for the race
