I mentioned earlier that ESPN is going above and beyond to try and make horse racing a top sport once more. They're promoting it more than most of their biggest sports and I can also tell you they're bringing in quite a few new faces to appeal to younger demographics by spring of 07 and bringing in some ESPN mainstays to assure viewer audience is mixed.

yea, but i also feel the 'win and your in' could be the first baby step to establishing some sort of 'league'.
afterall, the only way to appeal to the masses is to make things simple by appealing to the least common denominator.

The key in attracting new fans is to let the sport be the driving force and not the gambling aspect. If new fans are drawn to the sport the wagering will follow.

Horse racing will never be big again. There is too much time between races. People today need constant action. Even poker is constant action. Horse racing just has no appeal to a society that needs instant gratification.
