![]() Well, I think what you call a critic is often anyone who tells the truth when it isn't convenient for you.I wrote a little about the ride on C.Q.etc..,but no I am not starting threads to talk about him.You on the other hand, just started one to lick his nuts for about the 100th time this year. All I ask is he doesn't get TM BLING stuck like he did when he cost Taste Of Paradise the Breeders Cup Sprint last year.Don't expect me to go back and forth with you over this guy for the whole weekend.Ain't gunna happen.Come back on and make your post licking on him again, and then that's it.Some people just want to argue endlessly(and Ritchie you are one of them.)If you want to argue about this guy, then wait for Oracle to get back from Churchill.
"As far as C.Q. goes, lets just hope he gets a post like he did in his other races at Churchill. You see,it could have been the surface. It could have been the distance(really the pace of 23'1 that he may not of been thrilled with.) You have to also consider that his rider has routinely blown rides on raters from the inside post positions. He repeats the same mistakes. He gets trapped down inside(and behind)horses, and has to wait for others to do what they may.It is his one major weakness.Same with Happy Ticket's expert ride on that rail. ON THE RAIL AGAIN....... JUST CAN'T GET OFF THIS DAMN RAIL AGAIN........ LOCKED IN, AND IT COULDN'T BE MY OWN DAMN FAULT.... CUZ I DON'T WANT TO BE ON THIS DAMN RAIL AGAIN......." __________________ |

By the way, there's not a single jockey who doesn't get trapped on the rail once in a while. There's not a single djockey who isn't forced to go four-wide once in a while. When you ride in a 10 horse field, you're not going to get a dream trip every time. Gomez is the best by far because he is the best at positioning horses, he gets the most out of his horses, and he gets into less trouble less than the other jockeys. That's why he's the best and that's why he's been so dominant. Your arguments are absurd. Your arguments are the same as me arguing that Tiger is not the best golfer because he had a few bad tournaments this year. How do you explain Tiger's 22nd place finish at the Player's Championship? How do you explain him missing the cut at the US Open? The obvious answer is that it is irrelevant how he did in a few individual tournaments. The only thing that matters is his overall performance for the year. Tiger's overall performance for the year is better than anyone else's. He was easily the best golfer this year. Gomez' performance for the year has been better than anyone else's. He is easily the best jockey this year. |

![]() There is a good article on Garret Gomez at http://drf.com/news/article/80162.html
They refer to Gomez as "arguably the world's premier jockey." He is the leading rider in the world this year with earnings of over $18 million. As I have said before, I think he is by far the best jockey in the country. I don't think its even close. I notice he has silenced the critics on this board. |
