Default Right About/Wrong About?

Just interested in seeing some people's thoughts on horses that performed today that they felt they were right about and those they were wrong about. Gloat a little if u were right and take your crow if u were wrong. I'll start off:

Right about Sun King. Finished 10th in the Classic. I said all along that he was probably the most overrated horse in America. Through everything, three seasons of racing, he's never won a single grade one but has continuously been called one of the top horses in the country. He's not.

Wrong (very wrong) about Invasor. I was high on him until he barely was able to beat Sun King then I dropped him off my radar. Thought he would be hard pressed to crack the top seven in the Classic. He made me look very stupid.

Wrong about Street Sense. I had noticed that he had faded in the final furlong of each of his races at shorted distances and thought he would not want the extra distance today. Again, he made me look very stupid.

Right about Ouija Board. She's simply the best and it isn't even close. I wish she had been in the Turf against the boys. She could have beaten them and then I could have had another winner in Film Maker.

Right about Wait a While. She is a nice horse but not ready for the real heavy hitters.

Wrong about Henny Hughes. I thought he would cruise. But once he didn't break all that well, he was done. He never looked comfortable and u have to wonder if it was something wrong with him. I mean come on, even if u didn't like him to win, u can't tell me u expected 14th and last.

Wrong about Sleeping Indian, Araafa, and Librettist. I said that Sleeping Indian was the weakest of the European runners. He finished the highest. Araafa and Librettist finished 9th and 10th. Hey, at least I did say I could barely seperate them.

Right about Echo of Light (and his rider was wrong). He finished dead last and showed that sometimes, people put too much into jockey decisions. The jockeys handicap the races just like we do and they are apt to make wrong choices just as we do. He picked the wrong horse although it's not much difference in 10th (Librettist) and 14th.

Wrong about Hurricane Run. Well, kinda sorta. Everyone knew that there was every chance that he was over the top and that since this race was an afterthought, he could stink it up. But there was the hope that he could find his old class one last time. He didn't.

Wrong about Better Talk Now. I really thought he was in over his head and well past his prime but he put in another really good run today and showed that he's still got it.

Wrong about Bernardini and George Washington. I though that they were the two classiest horses in the field and would run 1-2. Didn't happen. I thought Bernardini would run away from them like he did in his previous races but when the real running started and he had to run harder to get to the same spots that he had been at before, he didn't have the same amount left in the tank. GW just didn't do much of anything. A pretty even finish for him. Not too bad I guess. He was beaten by seven lengths and finished in front of seven horses, including several grade one dirt winners.

Right about Dreaming of Anna, but not at first, saw lots of people liked her and she seemed logical.

Semi-right about Street Sense, didnt play her to win but had her in the p3.

Right about Ouija. She seemed like a cinch here.

Wrong about everything else (races 6-9) besides Invasor & Bernardini being the top 2 in the Classic (saved my day).

Look the layoff on Sun King was a terrible idea. It was said numerous times on here by a lot of the posters. It cost him any chance he had of a money finish.

Right about: Lava Man being a fraud. George Washington being another one-surface Danehill horse. Henny being screwed if he didn't break well. Wait a While either winning or running out of the trifecta. Dreaming of Anna being the goods. Invasor being the biggest threat to Bernardini. Hurricane Run being a bad bet. The rail being golden after seeing the two Juvenile races. Denman being a terrible choice to announce the BC.

Wrong about: Bernardini being invincible. Miesque's Approval having no shot. Happy Ticket and Asi Siempre having no shot. Octave being an underlay. Araafa and Gorella being the clear class of the Mile. Mauralakana, Pomeroy, Satwa Queen having any chance in their races. Bernardini being invincible.

Right that Bernardini & Invasor were truly the best in the country and that Premium Tap looked like he could strike in the exotics. Also, that Lava Man would not be in contention at the wire.

Right that Pletcher would not win a race at the Breeder's Cup...although I can't say I wouldn't take the "losing" prize of $2 million made on the day by him.

Wrong about Ouija Board. I thought she could be beat with all she has done on the year, foolishly I didn't follow that thought into the turf and keyed Hurricane Run. I really thought, though not as good as last year, he was still better by nature.

Very wrong about Pomeroy, War Front & Henny Hughes.

Octave, I was only going to bet her to win and thought about it better and put Dreaming of Anna on top.

Wrong about Stormello and Street Sense. I didn't like anything about Street, but liked Stormello.

Juv Fillies

Right about Dreaming of Anna, I really thought she towered over this field.

Wrong about Cotton Blossom, I didn't think she'd crack the top ten.

Juvenile

Right about Street Sense and Great Hunter being very good horses on dirt.

Wrong about Circular Quay (who is better than I gave him credit for) and in thinking King of the Roxy, CP West, Stormello, and Principle Secret had a shot.

FM Turf

Right that Oujia Board was tough to beat.

Wrong that Satwa Queen was the one with a shot to beat her and that Film Maker wouldn't crack the top four.

Mile

Right about nothing, wrong about everything. My 7th, 10th, and 13th choices made up the tri with the 10th winning.

Turf

Right about Icy Atlantic getting last.

Wrong about Better Talk Now who I thought had no chance.

Classic

Totally right about Invasor winning and Bernardini being overrated and Giacomo cracking the top four.

Wrong in thinking Premium Tap would fold up like a cheap tent if he had to sit 4th early on dirt. Cost me the tri and the super.

Wrong
Dreaming of Anna. Too short for me to bet and I didn't think she'd run away like that. Glad for Catalano.
Sprint. I needed Nightmare Affair to get 2nd to hit for $2000. He missed by 1/2 length. Boxed 5 long ones in the Ex and Friendly Island was my last drop.
Street Sense. Played 3 shots to win and missed this guy.
Ouija Board. I thought she was not as good coming in as she was last year.
Mile. I bit on Araafa. Shame on me for betting a short horse in the BC. Miesque not that much of a surprise on second thought. I was also wrong on Aragorn who ran well. Good for Wolfson and Castro. Man can train and kid can ride.
Distaff: Right church, wrong pew. Tossed the two chalks and boxed 5 in the exacta but left out the winner.

Right
Turf: I did have Red Rock to win.

Classic: I wound up watching and not betting the race but I would not have used Bernardini on top.

Bet about $100 a race and had $50 to win on Red Rock. Lost a bit under $300 for the day.

Wrong about: Dreaming of Anna, Thor's Echo, entire sprint field, Araafa, Hurricane Run, Better Talk Now

Right about: Street Sense, Ouija Board (unloaded at the short price), Invasor, the rail by the time Pool Land ran.

Wrong about: Thors Echo tossed him because of the one hole and totally spaced that hey two horses had won from the one hole! Gorella a big disappointment there.

Right about: Invasor, Round Pond and Asi Siempre having a good shot though the DQ meant no return $ wise

Sniper, I hope you buried Invasor, I know you liked him all along. Its tough off those 90 days they did a great job getting him ready. I think Bernardini finally bounced, but he wasnt the best horse today. He never looked comfortable over the surface.

Right about the track being f'd up,and that the 2 inside posts were at a huge advantage in the sprint.

Wrong about putting them with the 2 favorites in exactas.Just didn't think that those 2 crazy horses(a Calbred, and a NY bred) would come in together. Crazy f'n track. This Island horse is that same horse who fell back like a stone in the Mike Lee in 2004.

wrong about street sense, kept looking at him and thinking no.
nothing to say about the baby fillies, had no clue.
wrong about thor's echo, even tho i kept looking at him in the one hole-no way THAT can continue i thought.
wrong about aragorn, he did well. missed miesque as well. was right about the euros not being BETTER than our turfers, and was wrong to pick one anyway!! lol
was right about ouija. oh man, if only they were all that easy to KNOW.
was right about the distaff in saying round pond if my girl couldn't win. damn.
names better talk now as a good longshot to hit. was wrong tho in thinking cacique would show up in there.
was right about invasor. oh yeah, been on him all year, and he rewarded me when i needed a bright spot the most. was right i guess about bernie as well. was wrong tho in thinking doug oneill could get lava man to do something outside of cali---hell, keep him out there, moneys money. west coast $ spends the same as $ from anywhere else.
