Belmont Week . . . stuff here
Notes, comments, etc from all . . . put it here. Again we have a $200 wallet to have so much fun with. Double points for 1st thru 4th place. I'll post the points and ROI threads as soon as we have the entries up. As JB already said the Belmont itself leaves little to get excited about thanks to the Derby Stewards. The rest of the card as usual should be awesome.
And then we wait for Monmoth Saratoga and Del Mar. Ohhhhh my. Is it summer yet??? Questions or input???

What are the thoughts about that? Race 1 post time is 11:35 ET. Do we have to start there or could we start with Race 3 which goes off at 12:57 ET?
All races from Race 3 to Race 13 except Race 12 are Stakes (8 are Graded). That's still 11 races for those that like to flagellate themselves with handicapping. Or is the thinking that since we have more money to play with, we should do more to earn it? |

Hey Don, don't hold back. You're among friends so you can tell us how you really feel.
Better yet, tell me you brand of wine - I could use a little of it. p.s. - Have any of you looked at the Met Mile - an incredible handicapping puzzle, with lots of different ways to approach it. |

OKie Dokie, let's start with Race 3 and go all the way through race 13, The Woodford Reserve Brooklyn Invitational, which looks like an easy one to bust our tired handicapping brains after the first 10.
I'll put up the Points and ROI threads later today or first thing tomorrow morning for our 11 race Belmont Day card. The wine did the trick!!! Oh and JB if it's red I like a nice rich and smooth Malbec and for white, we get the big bottles of Pinot Grigio for Patty and I'm an oaky Chardonnay guy.

Post mortem. Bad ride on Tacitus. Disappointing Triple Crown for me. Ready to move on to Monmoth, Saratoga and Del Mar, Ladies World Cup, College World Series.
Not sure what anyone saw in Sir Winston except a swami bet for D Day. Roamin nailed the exacta and the winner and so did Cruzan.

Had Tacitus and Sir Winston in tris on top, but left Joevia out. Was hoping that Spinoff might be able to take some of the starch out of his sails, but didn't happen. I'll die saying that name with my last breath,"Joevia, Joevia."(think about Orson Welles). Last edited by DonGuido : 06-09-2019 at 12:24 AM. |

Cal828, thanks for the good words. I have chosen Sir Winston previously in TB and his last race in Belmont. He handled the track pretty good and it was only fitting to go with him one more time. Tacitus was the horse to beat and that was my choice which it came out ok for me. Had real $$$$ on Sir Winston.

Congrats, Roamin. The next best thing to making money on the horses is for our friends to do the same.
