Roamin
Ruffian reported today via Roamin's son that he passed away in May 2023. I had the pleasure of meeting up with him at Monmouth many years ago. When I started playing in 2009 Tom was there. I also had the fortune to win a book he wrote and I can say after reading it he enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved betting longshots and still has 3 of the top 10 highest weeks and did win an ROI in 2019. Rest in peace Tom.

Sad to hear(or read). He was the ultimate longshot player. Pretty much $100 on the nose on all his plays and he always seemed to favor those last to first type runners. I was thinking today about those folks that seem to disappear and we never know what happened to them, but I guess we all knew that it might have played out as it did when they are gone for so long. I saw his book on some website about his experiences as a truck driver. I might get it one day and read it. Imagine it is pretty good.

Geez, I'm saddened to hear this news. I always checked to see where Roamin landed in this contest.
I'm glad to have known him through this group. RIP, Roamin. |
