Apocalypto
anyone else see Gibson's latest film?
very good and I notice it tops the box office right now. was not exactly what I expected, which is of the appealing things about the film. there really are very few good action films anymore. this is one of them. Repent |

do you have any original thoughts of your own? you troll around the forum after me typing "it figures". you post liberal propaganda without any regard for the consequences that would occur if the flawed ideas you post ever came to realization. your boy Gov Richardson is a fool. yeah, heard the same about Letters. go see Apocalypto Coach. I dont know what dts meant by his post on this thread, but the film is very good. violent yes, but no more than so many other films. I saw just as many deaths and injuries portayed on film in the first 15 minutes of Saving Private Ryan as I did in all of Apocalypto. this film keeps your attention for the entire duration of the movie, and that is not true for a lot of films. Saw it tonight. It was a great movie. Gibson is becoming a master.
Would highly recommend. |

I'll tell you what "it figures" means. It's a phrase that I learned after my "anger management" retraining had been ineffective, and I was sent to "etiquitte class". Seems that the a hole instructor had about as much nice things to say as you. My initial response was to scream "B-LL S-IT!!" Then a wise one pulled me aside and said, "Be polite. Just say, it figures". So...it figures. Most of what you spout does. Here's a review of your racist movie: http://www.commondreams.org/views06/1217-24.htm |

I cant begin to argue with the first three parts of the review because im definitely not learned on the subject. However, point 4 is completely offbase. If you see the movie, you'll know what i mean. |

I must confess that I haven't seen it, nor do i intend to. I don't like violence, though I know it sells. Gibson knows his market, and it has made him very rich. He just has a problem with facts...but it figures. |

you are going to give me a f*cking movie review from the commondreams website? thats like going to commondreams.com to get a projection of the NFC playoff situation. you really think those left wing nuts are going to give Gibson an objective evaluation of his film? and its not racist at all. if you find racism in this movie, you are just plain looking for it. it makes no social comment whatsoever. its simply a story of a man during the height of the Mayan civilization. I guess 25th Hour was a racist movie b/c the snitch lowlife happened to be from Eastern Europe. yep, thats it. Spike Lee hates Eastern Europeans. thats just as absurd of a conclusion. Repent |

To further the point, I am printing the opening quote from the movie: "A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within." -Will Durant Basically, by providing this quote in the beginning and finishing with the spanish ships arriving in the end, he is pointing out that all of the fighting and treachery amongst themselves destroyed their "great" civilization and left them open to being "conquered" from the outside by a far worse enemy. |
