SAT Calder Grand Slam III
Calder - Grand Slam III
Race 2 - MSW 23K 2yo colts 5 1/2 furlongs #2 Stormin Baghdad - Most experienced runner caught a sloppy track in 1st two starts at CD and came within a nose at Turfway (Poly). Prado hops aboard for Pitts. The Play $3 PK3 - 2 with All with 3 = $21 Race 4 - MSW 23K 2yo colts 5 1/2 furlongs #3 CUYUNI WATERS - Placed on the bench since finishing a nice 2nd to Cat Tour, who followed that maiden score with a dominating performance in the Seacliff Stakes. He's working well at Calder and Johnny V seems fit to ride. I can see Johnny V being all over him down the lane. BEST BET The Play - $50 to win #3 All stakes PK4 - Grand Slam III Leg 1 - Race 8 - Pete Axthelm #2 Outperformance - G3 Hill Prince winner has won off similar break. His 2nd to Showing Up in the Jamaica would be more than enough to get it done here. #3 Croton Road - Very consistent type runner who scored a couple of weeks ago in the Mels Hope from an outside post. Looking for 3 in a row. #5 Hollywood Left - Solid before last and worth inclusion at a juicy price. #7 Can't Beat It - Likely favorite had a troubled trip in the Trop Turf and prior to that took care of business in the G3 Calder Derby. #11 Thunder Pass - Coming in red hot, winning 3 of last 4 and hot Coa in for the ride. Leg 2 - Race 9 Chaposa Springs #4 Annabill - Should handle the step up and is the horse for course. Making 14th start and all at Calder. #6 Toll Taker - Ran out of real estate in last. Great post for her stalking style. Leg 3 - G3 Frances Genter #1 J'Ray - Was flying late after coming 10 wide in the Mrs. Revere at CD and has never been off the board on the lawn. #5 Rasta Farian - Matz's runner training well for return and the price is right. #9 Bayou's Lassie - Speed and is 3 for 4 at Calder. Dangerous up front. #11 Captive Melody - Clement winning at 38% for the meet and he's coming off restricted stakes win in Cali. (SCR) Leg 4 - G3 Stage Door Betty #1 Take D' Tour - Speed and Class. The only concern is the extra weight she'll be giving up 7 to 10lbs. She can pulled the starting gate with her and still get it done. PK4 - 2 3 5 7 11 with 4 6 with 1 5 9 11 with 1 = $40 for a buck play Good Racing Luck

OK, with the scratch of #11 Captive Melody in the 10th, we will include #15 Rebellion (GB) in race 8.
#15 Rebellion (GB) - Solid in Europe and training well @ Palm Meadows for Motion who wins at a 39% clip with horses making their U.S. debut. Johnny V in the irons. The Grand Slam III all stakes PK4- 2 3 5 7 11 15 with 4 6 with 1 5 9 with 1 = $36 for a buck play. Good Racing Luck

Take D Tour sure is a monster when everyone else lets her set reasonable fractions.

They could've had her pull the starting gate and she would've still beaten that bunch. Chalky PK4, but a win is a win. Very tough beat with Cuyuni Waters in the 3rd, Johnny V did everything in his power.
