Default How do you eat your Pizza?

Took the kids out tonight for pizza since my wife has a late board meeting and was mystified to see a young guy eating a regular slice of pizza no toppings with a knife and fork, and one kid eating from the crust to the front. Now i can see eating a slice with a fork and knife if you have numerous toppings on it but really not when it's just sauce and cheese.I'll give the benefit of the doubt if it's a sicilian (square) slice.I'll fold mine up if it's a little oiley to let the oil run off.Just curious to find out from some of you.

i tend to like it with ranch dressing -- no particular order, usually just by hand tip to crust, but with ranch dressing.

unless it's vegan pizza, then there's no need to spice it up with ranch.

You know when I lived near New Orleans, one thing they did was dip the pizza in french dressing. I thought that was foul until I tried it, not to bad.

you don't NEED to fold the pizza IF you're quick enough!

As for the top to bottom approach, isn't that a Pizza Hut creation?

Mushrooms on pizza are terrible (mushrooms are terrible). What about good old sausage and pepperoni?

Like the Lombardi quote, for his grandson is a good friend of mine.
Cardus: I can't think of anyone that I'd need to impress by using a K/F! Your choice is good enuf for me, although Round Tables' King Arthurs' Supreme sans anchovies is great! That's a rich heritage you have an eye into...good for you!

Maybe it's just me and living here in NY where you walk into your neighborhood pizzeria, something you can't do in many parts of this country, and you can order 2 slices and a soda.Things like ham, pineapple don't belong on pizza. In fact here in the small pizza parlors you will NEVER found those things on your pizza nor could you ask the person to put them on.And without trying to offend anyone, pizza from places like Papa Johns,Little Cesars, and the worst of the worst Dominos is just cardboard with sauce and cheese on it.Sorry.

S'okay, BBM, I grew up in Central PA, eating all of those pizzas you list, and now I don't like them, so I admit, NY pizza can do that to you, and NYC's is not even half as good as Chicago pizza, my husband tells me. (Though there's a place in Hummelstown, PA, that makes GREAT pizza. Local joint.)

I eat it with a knife and fork when it's too hot to bite into right off the slice. Then after it cools I eat it front to back.

I like hot peppers, olives, basil and fresh garlic best.

I agree with Genuine. Only with a fork when it it too hot to pick up. No folding, just shove it in my mouth.

I like any kind of meat except anchovies. Not a lot of veggies though.

Fresh garlic in pizza is the best!

At this place in Portland called Pizzicato, they had the best vegan pizza I've ever had -- huge pieces of garlic on it -- terrible for smelling nice later that evening, but the hugest pieces of garlic i have ever seen on pizza....how i miss it.

Brian, was I coherent last night when we talked? If not, I apologize... I had been drinking all day and the night didn't get any better as it went on.

I've heard that Chicago has the best pizza... ironically enough, every time I've been up there, I've never had pizza. LOL Next time around, I'll have to go and check that place out.

Ah, garlic. I especially like it roasted so each clove is all soft and squishy inside and then you smoosh it onto a piece of toasted bread. And then you smell just like a pizza parlor the next day and no one wants to come within three feet of you.
