do you have thoughts on the 6th? Do you think 7 months off and a switch to Ted West is enough to get this gelding right? Right now I like Hudson Bank, Indian Weaver, and Fantasmin
And the 7th...very interesting....Is Overly Tempting the horse that ran that huge fig to her first start or the one that stopped in the lane second time out (even though she won and beat De Svedonya it was a slow race). Not sold on Naugtylilhottie....need the lead type will stop bad going 6.5f. Valid Valid is worth a play based on the above.....and maybe even Monkey.... |

I think it is overly tempting or valid valid, but leaning heavily towards overly tempting as she should be able to sit off of Naughtylilhottie, pounce entering the stretch and hold off the closers valid valid, Monkey and de svedonya (put that down as the stone cold super)
As for the 6th, I do like the claim back angle in general.....it is obvious Knapp claimed Norway House due to his affinity for Santa Anita, but my question is the cut back to 7f....he will either come from way back or he will expend too much effort trying to stay close and he will lose that closing kick of his?.....My comment on Watch Over Me is really questioning if the horse got "fixed/healthy", as something was going very wrong when they dropped a horse running that well for 10k within a month, and then gets claimed and back in for a 12k tag....then the owner takes him from Mulhall to West.....it smells of an injury and the question is he healthy now and can he be half of what he used to be....I am also concered about Cohen up....yuck... Again, I really like Fantasmin, Indian Weaver, and Hundson Bank at 20-1 is very appealing in this group.......probably add either Norway or Watch Over but not sold on that idea yet. Thanks for your thoughts. Last edited by Rootdog1 : 01-31-2007 at 12:17 AM. |

I use to think Norway House was very un-game,but he now isn't.His problem last time was the 47 half mile.He has gotten very game, and 7f should actually fit him even better than 2 turns. He,and Fantasmin are very similar. They both want to make one run outside of horses. After watching Watch Over Me's races(7 times in the top 2 at Anita,)these are 3 of the gamest on the grounds.Won't be surprised if they come 1,2,3.

big scratches in the 7yh...Overly Tempting and Naughtylilhottie are out......so, where is the speed going to come from now? not sure, will prob just use valid valid and my little monkey but depends on track conditions.
Scuds - is it raining at SA now? I see they are off the turf today |

Card today has been destroyed. No turf in race 3(5 horse race.)Top 2 favs in the 7th(O TEMPTING,NAUGHTYLILHOTTIE) are out(5 horse race with no speed.)We did not get enough rain to take it off turf.I wasn't even sure there was enough rain to soften it up for Tenash's desired course. They are looking for any escuse to not use that turf. When they do race(during the week) on it,it is a freak fest(rail out so far.)They should just race on it on the weekends(obviously they could care less about Wed-Fri.)

Fantasmin out.....Something ain't right. They must have sealed, and didn't get the rain,or something. The 2 favs in the 7th,and a horse in the 6th with a huge shot? All scratched?? Hess is not exactly Neil Drysdale(he is not looking for an excuse to scratch.)

agreed - something is amiss here. is it possible that Hess is avoiding someone in there..maybe Watch O Me is really ready.........either way, i still think there is a chance to beat some favs in the pk4 and get paid a decent amount. something like this
5)1,5,3,6 Have to wait to see if solis and puype really have anything here, let the board lead me... 6)2,3,5 7)6 (maybe add the 1 in some pick3's to back it up...) 8)4,8,10 |

1st race went 1:09.3 so it could be playing to speed today if that is any indication...

If that is the case, it would be nice to know if Watch O Me's problems were with his feet/joints or breathng issues.....

I just am not interested in this card. You put the work in on a card, and they simply take all the fun away with these scratches.

I like the 1 here- Air Race with the Mig. Thought he'd be a better price but
8/1 is fair. |
