Default 2/16: Aqueduct (4th-9th)

Tough card as suggested but simply an awful job by me at Santa Anita Thursday. Carryover resulted, and today's sextet there is challenging but a bit more negotiable. Those tabs up seperately, but Wednesday's AQU races were transposed to today, and the capping had been done..

SELECTIONS -- Aqueduct

1. #2 Rusticate 12-1: Hertler colt showed smidge of speed on return.. WON
2. #7 Quick Comeback 9-5: Blinks try a flop; they're off and Coa's on..
A. #4 Appolonius 5-1: Mixed signals for bay from clever Englehart..
B. #5 SCRATCHED (SUB #1e Micelli entry 10-1)

5th: CLM, 3yo, 6f (P3, Grand Slam)

1. #4 Quick Trick 2-1: Note O'Callahan gets Coa; 3W in 7 tries together..
2. #6 SCRATCHED
A. #1e Contessa entry 6-1: 1a Pressing Issue eligible to bounce back.. WON
B. #2 Restless Mind 12-1: Schosberg gelding coming around..

6th: NYB-MSW, 3yo-F, 6f (P4, DD)

1. #7 Silvercup Baby 8-5: Domino AmChance gal has been bridesmaid thrice.. WON
2. #3 SCRATCHED
A. #6 Precision Footwork 10-1: Iorio struggling but grey showing foot of late..
B. #9 Texas Starlet 3-1: Contessa turns her around quick; style may not suit..

7th: CLM, 4+, 6f (P3, Super)

1. #3 Red Crusader 3-1: Gets pressure from outset but loves this strip..
2. #9 Letters 7-2: Contessa closer a legit option given expected hot pace..
A. #8 Bizzy Trick 4-1: T. Dutrow snares Coa (45% J-T) for 5yo..
B. #5 Multiple Choice 12-1: 9yo NY circuit legend ($672K) gets CC..

8th: The Champagne for Ashley, $65,000, NYB-4+, 1m-70y (DD)

Steve,
Your comment on Race # 6 Horse # 3 ""Obscure MD connections come north ""... I wonder If you think like I do...."" why would you send a horse up to NY unless you have a chance, after all there is races closer to MD""
I have not looked @ todays DR form. I just allways try and get into the trainers head why they would ship that far. I just was wonder what your mind set is on out of town shippers, when you make that comment...
Good luck today !!

Opps never mind...I see the scratch....

I remember that horse being a buy back at Ocala last Apr...don't recall what the problem was with her...never heard about her again until today...seemed strange that she couldn't get it done at mdn 10 and they planned on shipping her to NY....not suprised she scratched...

Byk, Nice call on the 12-1 m/l in the first leg...anyone playing a 10.00 win on the longshot in the 7th had a nice hedge and a pretty decent consol ..well played - let's get 'em at SA!

Thx folks for the nods..

Strange day. Saved big in the SA nightcap with the $700 tri and at Big A with $500+ tri or Conso.. Capped better at AQU I suppose and 'got paid' for it more or less on the day.. Leaving Auto City off the P4 cost us all $500.. Bad.. Very bad. I almost always use the Longshot Alert horse in the P4 but subbed the 10 who scared me.

Interesting action tomorrow.. P4's at SA, GP, FG.. P3 at TBD.. etc..

Think I'm laying down... Long, cold week in these parts!
