Default Gulfstream Friday Feb. 20

First, one at Tampa in the 5th...#2 Black Eagle: Adds blinkers and Lasix as he tries the surface he is bred for. I like the work pattern and he'll be good odds against the SAR playback money burner Throckmorton and the #8 who is susceptible to bounce off a huge, career effort.

Race 2:
#4 Doc John: Showed nothing in her first start, although it was on the turf. Pedigree suggests dirt and her recent works on it have been good. This is a short field devoid of quality so she wouldn't need to be much on dirt to contend.

Race 7:
#4 Defining Product: Won on barn debut off a similar layoff but faltered with an extra furlong against tougher when coming off a comparable break two back. Back in a week last out so I'll ignore that. Nothing wrong with his form prior to that, particularly his two NY races, and his speed is key here.
#8 Trini Boss: No chance last time when 4wd,3wd chasing the pace. Slow pace got the job done two back but has shown he can be up close through quick fractions and still hang around at the end. 7.5f looks prime.
#2 Honor the Kitten: Inconsistent sort that had done much when previously with these connections to suggest he's worth the short price in here. The one to beat on his day, but as you can see from his running lines he's been quite the money burner.
#1 Curve of Stones: Sheppard gave him a go-around on the dirt to get used to Lasix. Better performance coming, but that may not be good enough.

Race 8:
#3 An Imaginary Road: Generally gets in a great position to win and just got up in time last out. Unlucky to not a get a run earlier two back but surely the jockey upgrade also had something to do with his last start win. Lanerie sticks and no reason to believe a repeat can't happen.
#9 Roman Approval: Does his best running on or near the lead and should get into that type of position here. Seems to run best from the inside but with his speed should be able to crossover and lead comfortably.
#8 Arch Avenger: Got the run of the race to win last time but needs to keep up that form as nothing he did prior is good enough in this spot.
#7 Awesome Dawson: Romans is 13 0-0-2 with 4yo & older making their first turf start in a route. They've been around for a sniff of a minor share, but not good enough to win.

Race 9:
#6 Little Miss Julia: Adds Lasix after regressing off the win but she did miss three weeks between works for that race. Returns with a sharp work and expecting a better performance.
#7 Wildcat Gaze: Twice beaten by #6 but continues to improve with every start. Castellano has been on Cibelli's live ones.
#5 Fond of Sarah: Even though it was at Suffolk her debut, against the boys, was fairly impressive. Returned with Lasix last out which leads me to believe she bled in the prior, awful run. Three lengths behind #6 in the last but also had a much tougher trip that day. 47 flat work on the 7th and a 7lbs weight break...gun from the gate and hope she doesn't get caught.
#2 Like a Charm: Only had the one poor run and can run in the exotics. Just don't think this is the spot for her to win.

Race 10:
#3 Deep Consideration: Turf debut would win this and was only beaten by the distance last out. Up in class off the claim but this is far from a strong event.
#5 Arch in the Park: Given a prep run sprinting on the dirt while testing Lasix and blinkers. This one's bred for the grass and I think we'll see his best this time around.
#7 Stock: Turf pedigree and the debut was far from bad. Barn known for quirky form wins and I wouldn't completely ignore him.
#4 Super C Me: No real excuse when never threatening the leader in initial turf try and can again fill the placings.

Race 11:
#2 Piceance: Close twice in this class at GP last year and followed that up with two great runs in N1X company. Skeptical of his fitness for his last two. Should get a great inside run with the faves drawn out wide. Five solid works for this and I expect him back at his best.
#11 Neoclassic: Does his best running on the lead away from trouble and I can see him clearing early. Just missed last out and will be tough to beat again.
#12 Breakeven Analysis: Ran with some good foes as a 2yo, improved as a 3yo, and ran a career best in 4yo debut. Now shows up for a tag. Suspicious.
#6 Mygalsal: Looked short last time but regardless would need to improve on prior form to win this.
#10 American Strong: Two best runs have been against weaker. Took a long time to wind up in her last and may again arrive too late.

Ditto- nice price $24

Throckmorton finally breaks through today after failing as the fav in all 3 starts since that wild Spa race.

Thanks guys. Good day even though I missed the big multis, but they were very gettable for those massive prices. Always easier in hindsight though. Here's a quick rundown from today (I apologize if this counts as redboarding).
