11th: 80th Arkansas Derby (G1), 3yo, 9f (DD)

Kentucky Derby gate awaits several out of this with a number of invaders joining the solid participants along the Smarty-Southwest-Rebel lead up. As discussed extensively from here in Hot Springs, Baffert-Oaklawn juggernaut at center of story lines, but while Cupid deserves respect, he's an underwhelming wagering proposition. Feels like Whitmore (9-2) will provide the best key horse value with lightly-raced players like Dazzling Gem and American Pioneer getting bet down some from their ML numbers of 8-1 and 12-1. Moquett said all winter that Whitmore would require racing experience and added ground and from all reports has progressed measurably out of the Rebel. Dazzling Gem a now horse himself after running well despite being slightly under-prepared for Louisiana Derby. Suddenbreakingnews and Creator can pick up pieces..

Most Likely: #8 Whitmore 9-2 3rd
Best Value: #7 Dazzling Gem 12-1 4th
Next Best: #10 Cupid 2-1 10th
Exotics Use: #4 Suddenbreakingnews 5-1 2nd

KEENELAND

POST-SCRATCHES

7th: 86th Ben Ali (G3), 4+, 9f (P5, P4, P3, DD)

After Tenacious win, Eagle had some misadventures at FG. Perfect in 2 tries at KEE. Any progress from excellent 4yo debut at GP makes J S Bach a factor at square price. Expect he'll take money..

Most Likely: #6 Eagle 3-1 WON ($6.00)
Best Value: #10 J S Bach 10-1 8th
Next Best: #5 Noble Bird 5-2 2nd
Exotics Use: #8 Neck 'n Neck 9-2 5th

8th: 20th Giant's Causeway, F&M-4+, 5.5f-T (P4, P3, DD)

Typical cast for lawn dash and will mix and match 1-3 players from Captiva Island (Matzoball/Jewel) with Motion's nice Miss Ella and turf sprint assassin Delacour's Exaggerated. Miss Ella chased Lady Shipman at SAR last summer and Exaggerated was focused to this after January TAM win..

Best Value: #7 Miss Ella 6-1 5th
Next Best: #5 Miss Matzoball 3-1 7th
Exotics Use: #9 Exaggerated 8-1 WON ($22.00)
Super Add: #6 Jewel of a Cat 7-2 9th

9th: 35th Lexington (G3), 3yo, 8.5f (P3, DD)

Excellent tier two sophs in various states of progress for this. Swipe just missed over surface when last seen in BC Juvy and like all well-drilled Desormeaux players, commands respect. Direct Message won't be 15-1, but Albertrani charge likely the value key after breakthrough effort last and with style that allows him to stalk speed and go. Collected exits Sunland thing looking to find place in sophomore class pecking order. Big Squeeze (10-1) improving with experience and added ground for dangerous and masterful Gary Simms..

Best Value: #2 Direct Message 15-1 4th
Next Best: #4 Swipe 9-5 6th
Exotics Use: #10 Collected 2-1 WON ($6.40)

10th: 28th Jenny Wiley (G1), F&M-4+, 8.5f-T (DD)

Tepin gives 5# to everyone but still figures as overwhelmingly likely. Euro imports Akatea (Clement) and Wekeela (Brown) kept classy company abroad, but Recepta draws interest at attractive price in first start as mare and off strong series of works..

Most Likely: #8 Tepin 4-5 WON ($2.80)
Next Best: #2 Akatea 8-1 9th
Best Value: #4 Recepta 12-1 5th

All A's: 2x3x3x1 = $18 ($9 for .50)

$1.00 Pick-4 (2,3,6/9/10/1,8) Paid $173.60

11th: MSW, 3yo, 8.5f (Super Hi-5)

Hot Zito barn has raced itself into shape and Singleton, 2nd to Direct Message (see above) last, should not lose..

Most Likely: #10 Singleton 2-1 4th
Next Best: #4 Colonel Dan 5-1 7th
Exotics Use: #9 Street Gray 3-1 WON ($10.20)
Super Add: #7 Hint of Roses 7-2 2nd

Steve,

In the 9th at Oak, did you want to use the #1 in the P4's? You have the #4 listed as your third choice, but use the 1 in both P4's, not the 4.

Best of luck today!
