Another Ruff day as Saratoga waves farewell for 2016. Only three players could claw out a
winner on the card but those winners provided the group with a profit for the afternoon. Digger gets the third place points with a wager on Frosted in the Woodward. Cruzan takes second place with a win bet on the double digit paying Inspector Lynley. Ruffian rides away with yet another win on Silver Ride in the 8th who paid $78.50 for the win. Congrats Ruff. Congrats to Ruff on yet another ROI victory.
It was absolutely astounding to me that the Saratoga bettors allowed a horse ridden by Jose Ortiz to go off at 38-1. I was playing in another contest in which there was a special award for picking winners who paid $20.00 or more. I had looked at Silver Ride and included him on a list of a half dozen candidates, but ultimately eliminated him from the list because I was afraid that the final odds would be far below the 15-1 morning line. Was shocked when the late odds kept going up, not down. Just shows how wrong we all can be in this game.
