Not really sure what Junior was doing there. Maybe he came back too early from his spill because he rode scared early and was less than enthusiastic from the 3/8’s to the wire. He made no attempt to find room, nor get out until it was way too late and even then he wasn’t even pumping hard.

Belmont
6th- #3 Tolaga Bay- always have to take a look when Arch Kingsley brings a horse to NY....or anywhere really. When last seen he missed by a neck against Largent who would be 1/9 here and was recently 2nd to Colonel Liam in the Pegasus Cup Turf. Appears to be enough pace in here and I have to bet at anywhere near his ML 7th- #6 Finding Freedom- won at first asking for Chad Brown at Tampa and was purchased privately by Gary Barber who wisely keeps him with Brown. He was much the best first out and with expected improvement in his 2nd start should give the favorite all he can handle. |

Good to see Miah Englehart is back to his cheating ways. Guy couldn’t win for the better part of 18 months but he’s figured it out this weekend.

I’ve made my opinion known many times that if racing in California ended tomorrow I could care less and this is one of the reasons. Take a look at the 7th today and explain to me how there is a moderate pace in there.
What were the riders of the 2 and 4 doing? How was the 4 dead last early? How can anyone make a bet with any kind of confidence there? Close it down and sell the land. Let guys like Mario Gutierrez have to try and make a living somewhere else. |
