Tough to know when Jose Ortiz will ride with his head up his ass or ride well. She was loaded until Jose found the trouble, losing all chance.

Mo rolls tomorrow

The "outside the box" thinking that you like to champion actually worked to great effect for the people that bet on Secret Oath today. Running (and failing) in the Arkansas Derby rather than recording a facile win in the Fantasy is probably the main factor that kept her from being the favorite today (unless I'm way off on the relative speed figures). Would have been a huge gift if she got off at the 6-1 ML.

It will be interesting to see what they do with her from here. Lukas is at the tail end, so perhaps we will get some more radical campaigning. If so, I hope its the Preakness and not the Belmont (unless it ends up being both). Barring setbacks, the Travers would be the ideal race to tackle colts again as she probably ought to assert her dominance over the 3yo filly division in a couple of more races.

If he really wanted to go old school he could try the Alabama-Travers double off a week's rest ala Davona Dale.

Now is the time for NYRA's stakes coordinator to trot out the whole mystical "stallion making" capabilities of the Met Mile to persuade Bill Mott to run Olympiad in that race.

Broke on top, settled under restraint off a slow pace, and re-rallied after being collared at the top of the stretch (albeit by a likely short horse).

Toss in the pedigree and he seems tailored made for a one-turn mile...

Mott trains Speaker's Corner.....but I agree he should run both.

Not to mention he had to tote around clueless Junior. Is Flight Risk still in training or has he done enough?

He worked a slow 5 furlongs last weekend, which is probably a smart move (going slow rather than bullet working) as he can have no further slip ups to make the race.

I presume he will work again tomorrow.

He is like your cousin's hot girlfriend that may or may not come for thanksgiving. You want to see the short shirt and heels but if dumps her you know it's for the best.

I see that they are going to focus on sprints with Echo Zulu, feeling that 2-turn races are a bit beyond her scope. I kinda felt like she ran the second best race here.

Once again, connections doing the right thing by their horse disagrees with your assessment.

Then again, Taiba's connections agreed with you. I hope he runs again, I really do.

Doesn't the Acorn make sense as the next spot for Echo Zulu?

Great chance to win another Gr1

Of course, which is why she's running there. Should be a great race.

Sir, you always give your opinions on what you think people should do. Everyone else does also. But when it comes to me, you have a need to point out that it's their horse and they can do what they want. Like I don't know this already. In this case, I didn't even offer up a possible race I'd like to see her in or suggest that her people were wrong. I actually agree with them that she'd be best in sprints. I only said I thought she ran the second best race here.

As for Taiba, I'm pretty sure that they did not run because I thought they should. They came to that conclusion all on their own and based on the odds he went off at, it appears that quite a bit of other people thought he should run too as they felt he had a huge chance to win.

Honestly sir, what have I done to you?
