$3 Triple Play Grid:

8: 6-7 (A), 1-3-5-9 (B), - (C)
9: 5 (A), - (B), 3 (C)

Simple (A+B): 3x6x1 = 18 x $3 = $54
All A's: 3x2x1 = 6 x $3 = $18
Backups: 1-3-5 w/ 6-7 w/ 3 = 3x2x1 = 6 x $3 = $18

8th: Hall of Fame (G2), 3yo, 1m-Inner (P3, DD)

Always interesting group for this and there is not one auto-toss of the 9 including Chucky Lawrence's 20-1 Wow What a Summer whose Penn Mile win stands up against these. And what do you do with Wit (4-1) whose grass efforts in the morning hint at turf ability? Double Clutch got within 2 lengths of Annapolis in the Manila and that one is your 5-2 choice in tomorrow's Saratoga Derby. Rusty Arnold regularly offers overlay potential in these parts. Super race and none of the 3,024 superfecta combinations are impossible..

Best Value: #7 Double Clutch 5-1 5th
Next Best: #6 Ready to Perform 9-2 WON ($9.80)
Exotics Use: #3 Wit 4-1 2nd
Super Add: #5 Stolen Base 8-1 7th

9th: Troy (G3), 4+, 5.5f-T (DD)

Golden pal the horse to beat obviously, but Arzak is not far off the favorite and has benefit of pace set up. Spycraft is an overlay at 15-1 and Thin White Duke can nab 3rd or 4th late..

Most Likely: #5 Golden Pal 1-2 WON ($2.60)
Next Best: #3 Arzak 9-2 4th
Best Value: #1 Spycraft 15-1 6th
Exotics Use: #7 Thin White Duke 30-1 3rd

10th: NY-MCLM/$25k, F&M-3+, 7f

Most Likely: #6 Wicked Lady 5-2 WON ($8.20)
Next Best: #4 Big Bean Christine 7-2 7th
Best Value: #1 Miss Malala 30-1 8th
Exotics Use: #3 Regal Rebel 6-1 9th

P5 Grid:

6: 2-4 (A), - (B), - (C)
7: 2-4-5 (A), - (B), - (C)
8: 6-7 (A), 3-5 (B), - (C)
9: 5 (A), 3 (B), - (C)
10: 6 (A), 4 (B), 1-3-7 (C)

Simple (A+B): 2x3x4x2x2 = 96 x .50 = $48
All A's: 2x3x2x1x1 = 12 x .50 = $6
Backup: $18 (1-3-7 in 10th)

$0.50 Pick 5 (4/4/6/5/6) Paid $272.50 (A-A-A-A-A)

P4 Grid:

7: 2-4-5 (A), - (B), - (C)
8: 6-7 (A), 3-5 (B), - (C)
9: 3-5 (A), - (B), - (C)
10: 6 (A), 1-4 (B), 3-7 (C)

Simple (A+B): 3x4x2x3 = 72 x .50 = $36
All A's: 3x2x2x1 = 12 x .50 = $6
Backup: $12 (3-7 in 10th)

$0.50 Pick 4 (4/6/5/6) Paid $64.37 (A-A-A-A)

Great handicapping today…especially with the all caps pick of AZTEC. Hopefully this starts a nice stretch of cashing in. Thanks as always Steve.

Nice work today Steve. I've been on the grounds and hoping to run into you to show you my retro/original DT baseball hat...LOL

I took a big swing on Ballymore Star and came really close - then missed out on the ALL CAPS special. Thought I was a goner until Ready to Perform bailed me out!

Been pretty chalky the last 2 days - I'm looking for a couple bombs tomorrow!

Good luck!

THX JT.. Think I've capped well this first half earning some minor pops, but have been unable to convert the bigger tix. Only takes a couple.

THX Larry.. Expect that settling in for the month after the travel the first 2 weeks will be helpful.

THX.. If you're in the gate by 12:30 or so weekdays, I've been broadcasting from the racing office next to the shine stand..

Just haven't been able to get the Ballymore Star types (have tried several) a11 the way around.
