Default ROI Results 10/26 @ Keeneland

Our farewell trip to Keeneland did not turn out well. We can only hope the Breeders Cup
next weekend turns our fortunes around. No profits were made on Saturday so none of
the points slots were filled. Real Quiet and Cal cashed a ticket but fell short of profitability.
So on we go to Del Mar and a weirder than usual Breeders Cup lineup. No longer is the
Classic the finale. NJ Stinks is firmly in the lead going into our final cards but with a $200
bankroll, full fields and the possibility of some big payouts it's still not over for players who
still have a dollar and a dream. See you all in a few days and good luck with your picks.

Real Quiet -$25.41 R7…$11 ex key. 11 w 4-5-12 $6.69 X 11... $73.59

Cal828 -$46.64 R7 $4 P3 11//8//3,6,9,11 $6.67 X 8... $53.36

Indian Hemp -$100.00

Joly B -$100.00

Ruffian -$100.00

NJ Stinks -$100.00

Digger -$100.00

Not only is it a weird lineup, but also more of those foreign runners that you are not too fond of. Last year there were 60. This year 80 so lot of PPs that nobody can make heads or tails of.

In many previous years, it would be possible to handicap the dirt races comparing horses and trainers with whom we were reasonably familiar, but it was difficult to assess the comparative form of the European runners in the turf races. The added dimension this year is the large Japanese contingent that seems to be a factor in both turf and dirt races, with the conclusion for many of them "could be any kind." It is going to be very difficult to put together winning tickets with that added complexity. Hopefully the payoffs will reward those who analyze (or guess) correctly.

The draw for post positions is this evening, after which the work begins in earnest - or should I just drag out my dartboard?

In past years I maybe could handicap half of the races and those included 2 year olds who didn’t run a lot of races at the distance. This year I’m hoping to find any. Still haven’t looked at any performances yet but I’m not overly optimistic.
