Default Andy Beyer still the best

How about hitting that one right on, at $29.00

"Besides Curlin, the most talented horses in the field are the three European invaders -- Duke of Marmalade, Henrythenavigator and Raven's Pass -- who have accounted for 10 Grade I wins against the best competition on the continent. Raven's Pass is the only one of the three who appears to be coming into the Classic in peak form, and I will gamble that he takes to the Pro-Ride and pulls an upset. "

So then what does that make me? Look on the thread and you'll see that I picked him too. Does that make me co-best with Beyer?

An inveterate self-aggrandizer?

After I check the dictionary, I'll let you know what I think about this comment.

Actually though, it was not meant to be serious. I've said many times on here that none of us are any more expert than the rest. We all make some good picks and we all make some bad ones. We all make some good observations and we all make some bad ones. Some people just really take themselves and their positions in the sport too seriously and think they are better than the rest. This was an example when an obvious idiot like myself matched strides with one of the greats in history.

Andy Serling picked him too, I viewed the Serling/Dan Illman video post BC day

I would like to know how Beyer did the rest of the two day card. Not to slam him if he lost money, but more of a check of the formfullness of pro ride. I imagine it did play to form, as Monday morning handicapping made it appear we all should have won more than a few(I was 0-4 for the two days. If I had bet ore races, I would have lost them, also). I viewed the Thorograph seminar for the BC that is now up for free and looked at Steve Davidowitz's picks and analysis that is now up for free. If you had paid for their advice in advance, it would have been a disaster

The closest I got to a win was in my Classic post here, saying I could look at the race from the turf to synth +correlation perspctive and bet the Big 3 Euro's, perhaps do a 3 horse exacta box of Raven, Henry and Duke.

I tossed that silly idea.

Apparently, Duke was over the top, as evidenced by his prior race and then shipping on short notice

We've been over it before, so I'm not going to rehash the whole arguement, but not everyone here is equal when it comes to opinion or their understanding of this game. In no way am I knocking you, but take a look at some of the threads around here from a few days ago. Obviously some people have a better understanding and opinion on the game just like some others do with other sports. And that's not even taking into account people here that make their living working in the industry as trainers, broadcasters, etc.

Take a look at the sports threads. Obviously someone like Coach Pants has one of the better if not best opinion here when it comes to football. You're very sharp when it comes to basketball. Do you think we're all equal when it comes to those sports?
First, I'd like to thank you for the complement about my basketball knowledge. I don't know if it's deserved but I appreciate it still. Now, perhaps saying that we are all equal or that nobody is better than anyone else was a bit too much. There are obviously some that have more insight and experience than others in all areas and that will generally put them ahead of the rest of the pack. I guess that what I was trying to say is that it doesn't matter your experience level compared to someone else's. There are still times when you will be wrong and the novice will be right. Won't happen as many times as the other way around but it will still happen sometimes. I guess I was just reacting emotionally and shouldn't have even responded to the thread but it's just that there are a few on here that really seem to think they are gifts from God Himself and treat the opinions of others as if that person was stupid or beneath them. I think that it's better to listen to the words of those that know less and teach and encourage than it is to always telling them how dumb their opinion is by constantly reminding us of your position in the business. That's all.

I had actually deleted the post to check the spelling as it looked wrong to me. Then I wasn't going to even restore it at all, but KG had already quoted in a response.
