What's funny is that I believe it was a Grade 3 recently. Of course it used to be a Grade 1, but they also got good horses in it years ago.

Maybe Simmard can go place a few bets, grab a drink, come back and then win so the others will have thought it was at least close.

Without the herding of his jockey and a cozy pace setup, he would have been easily beaten by Newsdad last time.

I'm sure his new rider will easily repeat that.

His new rider sucks. The 3 days a year I follow Woodbine often include extensive replay watching of Patrick Husbands making premature moves, punishing horses with horribly wide trips, and losing with the best horse in a race far too often. Reference last year's Northern Dancer aboard Simmard for a great example.

I was happy to see Simmard win. Wasn't my pick and I lost money on him but he had knocked on the door for so long. I think it was his first stakes win (?).

This looks easy for him with Newsdad in the field or not.

Of course I have sucked lately so...

Figured I'd mention this here cause of your Woodbine comment...

Look who finally had a workout!!!
