Default every sperm is sacred

the church resists change so much. yet, we know they can alter. after all, they finally conceded the earth is not, in fact, the center of the universe. once upon a time, free will was considered blasphemy. at any rate, their position is ridiculous. they claim using birth control is immoral. i say having children one has no way to support is what's immoral. and 'don't have sex' is a ridiculous 'solution'. i can't imagine telling my husband, hey, don't want kids, so you're cut off.

But it's a message the church doesn't like. It says artificial contraception is immoral, and the bill will pave the way to legalizing abortion. The bill does not legalize abortion though it seeks to improve care for women suffering from complications after an illegal abortion.

The church says people should use natural family planning.

It says poverty is a cause, not effect, of a high birth rate (what????). Children are being born into homes without enough food to eat because of the government's failure to end corruption and provide jobs, the bishops say.

"It's our firm belief that contraceptives will never be the answer," said Father Melvin Castro, executive secretary of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines' Episcopal Commission on Family and Life.

"They are poor not because they have no access to contraceptives but because they have no work. Give them work and it will be the most effective birth spacing means for them." i didn't realize that work was a form of birth control. who knew?? and note that the woman in the story, with 14 kids, and her husband do work. so...uh...there goes that line of 'logic'.

On the other hand: when angry old white guys are the fastest failing demographic in the country, and white is no longer the primary race of most babies being born in the US, and white will be a distinct minority by 2025, it pays for those that depend upon that demographic to stay in power to tell white people they can't use birth control or abortion.

It makes more of 'em.
