Default Zev vs Papyrus ~ 1923

Very old footage of the great race between Zev and Paprus back in 1923.

I love seeing stuff like this. Very cool. No sound, but still fun to see how it was back then.

Phenomenal piece of history!

Very cool with the aerial shots and whoa... a flustered and awkward Major Belmont with his kind eyes and wow thousands of men who look the same ... I just absolutely loved this.

Love old footage too, sistah... so happy you posted this.

Thanks.. I loved it too and find it funny to think of people dressing like that today.. Thoroughbred Racing Global is where I actually came across it on FB.

It is just lovely and, dork that I am, I watched it again.

I don't know... probably no one else here gets all choked up watching the old liners but for anyone who gives a crap this is (was ) the RMS Aquitania... a beautiful lady of the Cunard Line...

Again, just a wonderful job they did on the video you posted. I mean how much more complete could it have been?

Perfection.

This was absolutely incredible to see. Thank you so much for posting. Any racing historian will treasure this. I am still getting over what you found. This is incredible.
