I think its coming down to this:
If the advertisers think they will be hurt if after his detention hall he comes back and there is a backlash, he is cooked. If the advertisers dont pull adds, then they think its worth having him on, limited damage done. He stays. The people who pay the bills for the on air time will have the decision how much it will hurt to keep him. And that ultimately is the advertisers. These people are not dumb. Plenty of little polls and such will be done. |

When asking if so and so public figure can come back from some scandal, I always use the Pat O'Brien test. Is it worse than Pat O'Brien? "lets' get some coke and some hookers and just go crazy".
In the Imus case I'd say yeah he'll be back, serve your suspension, apologize another 20-30 times, then go on and be more careful. The one they should watch is Bernard because he is the one that pushes the racist stuff, I think the I Man sorta just follows along like a kid. anyway he is the one responsible. the one I find funny on that show is the guy who dresses up and does the voices and songs and impersonations, can't think of his name. |

I think some people found out that "jokes" about racism or sexism aren't really all that "funny". Rutgers women gave Imus a slam dunk, no foul....champions they are! He will learn from them. I hope we all do. |

LOL....Folks......There is no mystery why this man said this.He was trying to be funny. The biggest lie was when he said he didn't know if he thought it was funny. He thought it was funny.Nobody should be stumped about why he said it.

This will be the last time I even think about this subject, not to mention comment on it, but I just saw Rutgers Coach Stringer at her press conference on ESPN. She was saying something to the effect of we should never let someone else's opinion or words make us feel bad, then went on ranting and raving how Imus' words made her feel bad!! HUH? Imus has been doing this type of "humor" for 20 years (Bad), offensive, distasteful... the point is, only a few people would even know about this awful attempt at humor if it wasn't for the INSANE press coverage since it happened. The whole thing is RIDICULOUS!! and it is a DISTRACTION!
