This weekend is kind of an anticlimax after those big days at Ellerslie! Just one minor stakes race at Awapuni. But the Ellerslie fields are still interesting, especially the 2yo and 3yo races, so it should be a good day.

Oh good, I'm glad. It seems a bit early today (tomorrow)... no?
Oh Thorn Pass! Nice news. I will have to check back later on tonight. Good luck to Nashville in the Marton Cup @ Awapuni. I think Madonna Mia wins but gotta root for him. If you're at Ellerslie have fun! |

Some unexpected results in the big races down at Trentham today! But very happy for all the winning connections.
Mabeel and Dukedom were hugely impressive. |

Have not yet watched replays but terribly happy to see Nashville, Thee Auld Floozie and Sultan of Swing all won. Looking forward to watching both Mabeel and Dukedom...

I really miss having the likes of Pinzaara to follow and enjoy, so I wasn't able to resist this opportunity:

I know there are some lovely horses in the Thorndon field, but I can't believe Addictive Habit is only the sixth favourite.

Very much liked your piece and yeah they are wonderful fields.
Good luck to my beautiful Soriano (although I do think Kawi looks really strong here). (...oh yeah and to Blood Brotha, Nashville and Jimmy in their race). You have got to be going to Ellerslie on Sunday, correct? You know I always prefer the older kids but whoa... those are seriously exciting fields with so many superstars-to-be it is dizzying! edit - Aaaaghhhh forgot to mention this... Giant Turtle was second to last in his last race and McQueen was 2nd. http://racing.hkjc.com/racing/info/m...20160117/ST/05 GOd send them both home already... this isn't working out.
