You do NOT charge into them in a group, waving your batons, hitting them when there is zero resistance, throwing them to the ground, and sitting on them, then dragging them across the ground to the paddy wagon.

As is visible in multiple videos of the "Boston Cops vs Veterans for Peace" videos out there.

As I said, the response is always the same. Bull issued "lawful" orders to disperse, then resorted to firehoses, dogs and clubs. The National Guard at Kent issued "lawful" orders then moved on to random killing as did the State Police at Jackson. There is never one side that is 100% to blame or is blameless, but power does not equate to "right" and the laws of man are only as morally justified as they are fair to all.

Maybe you should just pay better attention to what happens in this country.

It is really laughable to think that you believe that. Of course you believe the 1st stimulus was a big success too despite all evidence (like occupy Wall street) to the contrary.
Well, you clearly know all about it. And you aren't going to let any evidence or facts to the contrary change your mind

They will divert money to trading on foreign markets where no transaction taxes exist (Hong Kong/China wont go for it) or the money may be taken out of play entirely.

Nice market redboard. They should put a stiff charge on trades held less than 10 minutes. The progams are making this so volatile.

Yes or no?
Sure and then watch as those people move to a new location where someelse gives them a tax break and you get none of their money.

So the big American Wall Street investment firms are going to move out of the country and cease practicing here if there is a 0.1% tax on trades, and a 0.01% tax on derivative trades.

Have they said this?

Your definition of beating is obviously quite different than most.

What should they do? How would you deal with it? Comparing Kent state and the videos Riot posted is laughable. How would you deal with a situation where people intentionally bring about confrontation by not following police orders?

Yes. Those poor millionaires and above, currently paying that terrible tax on that income today, will luckily stop their needless suffering when it expires 12/31/2011.

They won't have to now move out of New York! Yay! They were all threatening to, you know ... just couldn't take it any more!

Millionaires and billionaires will collectively, gain $5 billion dollars, and NY City will lose that money. Don't worry - NYC will spread that $5 billion dollars in tax loss out on increased tax rates for those that make less than a million dollars, to get that money back. Or stop giving out $5 billion in city services that will negatively affect every citizen, not just those of wealth.

But the millionaires and billionaires won't have to move from that nasty New York! Yay!

Do you think that will be a deterrent at those levels? And yes they will move money to places they will make more money. That is pretty clear no?

Being charged and knocked over, hit in the head with a truncheon and thrown to the ground, then being sat upon, while standing still passively accepting arrest with no resistance, for a misdemeanor, doesn't count as "beating" in your book?

You should teach at the police academy.

But nice to know you side with the millionaires, and not the protesters. Your opinion, you're entitled to it.

But then perhaps you should not bitch about the cost of city services for "cities that have no money" when the protesters simply exercise their constitutional rights as citizens of that city.

It looks really bad.

Chuck: Protesters cost money! Cities don't have money! Bad protesters! They are expensive!

Beth: Those protesters are protesting the loss of $5 billion dollars in city income, due to tax breaks for the rich in that city. That will cut city services like fire, police, sanitation, and negatively affect everyone, or increase the taxes on those that make less than 1 million dollars.

Chuck: But millionaires will leave the city without those tax breaks!

Beth: Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out, millionaires.
