Dude I know you were a football player and as such weren't held to a higher academic standard but the majority of rich people either mooched or robbed.

God USC is lucky they lost to UCLA, Ohio State may have beat them 100 to 0

We will never know for sure. But if you are saying the Yuckeyes would have beaten us 100-0, then shouldnt Michigan beat us by at least 75-0, considering they are very close in ability to the Yuckeyes?

That we will find out. The linesmakers dont think the Wolverines will beat us that badly. Last time I checked it was 2 for the spread.

You are a troll, thats number one.
Number two is that people no matter how rich don't just give people money, they didn't get rich that way. I find that wealthy people make people work real hard for what they pay them, and they also don't do business with you if you screw them of screw up.
Wealthy people often have companies and things to run, they don't have all day to watch races or read the form at like 10 tracks a day. They delegate authority to people who do.
The notion that a 5% commission earned by an agent is mooching is pretty funny. In most cases its an underpayment. Try this sometime ok?
Watch races from like 6-8 tracks a day live or on replay. Go over the charts of the tracks you can't see.
Then establish what you think may be a good buy based on years of learning and understanding teh business.
Then call up folks and ask if the horse is for sale. If it is you have to negotiate between the two parties. Then if it is you have to draw and send a written contract.
Arrange for vetting, oh yeah if it doesnt vet guess who eats the bill like a taco from Taco Bell?
It it does, arrange for money wire transfers and then arrange for shipping and the proper papers to be sent along with him. Make sure you have a valid and notarized bill of sale or he or she can't run in most jurisdictions unless you do with the foal papers.
Sound like fun? Sound like mooching? Good luck chief.

Do you really think that you aren't "in it for yourself" when you plunked down that 250 bucks?
You are delusional pal.
$250--where do you get that. Try $12,500 and another $18,200 numerous of times/ See Oracel, you are what I like to call "wasted talent." You are smart and probably very hard working. I dont know you from a hole in the wall. However, I am going to make some assumptions here. You have probably held many types of jobs in your life and you havent been successful at any of them because it is always someone else fault. You prob have been fired from a job because it was someone elses fault. You prob have had failed relationships and they have failed because it is the other person's fault. You are smart, dedicated, hard working but your tremendous ego gets in the way of you being truly successful. Now, turn that ego from selfish into unselfish and the skies is the limit for you.

LOL!! You are about as good with people analysis as you are with horses, not real good.
Before doing what i do now I was a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley for 4 1/2 years. Earned the highest award first year advisors can get, and loved it. Sadly I entered the business(which I loved) just in time to gather assets and watch them plunge after the tech wreck and then the crushing 911 drop.
Advisors were paid on commission only, and in a down market the best advice you can give a client is to pare down any bad stuff hes holding, and sit on his hands. Thats the right thing to do. Unfortunately its tough to make any money that way if you are on commission, nearly impossible. After a while it became apparent to me that people had become very educated about buying financial products themselves, and were doing their own research on the internet, etc. So I left after 4 1/2 years. The guys who worked with me and were Vp's etc, well very few are left down at the office and I call up a friend there now and then and hes miserable.
Since then I've been doing this and enjoy it. If i wanted to be a leech I could always have moved down to Louisville and have taken Lansdon up on his generous offer to work for his company, but I have some responsibilities to family members that make that hard for me to do. I suppose its nice to know its there as a "safety net" but i enjoy working on my own for now. Before Morgan I worked for Marriott running the bar and restaurant in a hotel, left because I moved, sure wasn't fired, and had a commendation in my file for evacuating the hotel when a fire broke out and the supervisor went to pieces. Also increased sales 300% in my tenure there. So much for the many jobs huh?
relationships are personal and I don't speak about them directly. Except to say that you are wrong.
As far as taking life advice from a tire saleman? Thanks but I have plenty of friends who do posess intelligence and savvy that i would turn to before you. Actually there is a homeless guy who hangs out in front of the library around here who I would ask for advice before you!

I'd give YOU some life advice, but I think you are a hopeless case and it wouldn't do any good anyway.

Life advice?? And yours is based on what--living in a one bedroom apartment in Sartoga Springs, never married, no children living off of other people. Try getting yourself in $100k worth of debt for a dream, try having a child rely on you, try having a mortgage. Oh, then try working 18 hours a day to make it all work. Try paying off the debt, try owning your own home. You are laughable. You have accomplished absolutely ZERO in your life. Nothing. You have amounted to nothing. If you were to die today, no one would miss you. You are complete loser and I am not mad. I am disappointed in you as a person.

Oracle, see you blame 9/11 for not succeeding at being an analyst. Told you that it is always someone else's fault. Talented analysts survive tough times. I wonder how many of your clients were mommy and daddys friends. How many people did you get on your own--I would guess ZERO. And if you were that good then Morgan Stanley would have found a way to keep you. Companies do not get rid of good people. That is why I got laid off. I sucked as a sales person and I didnt blame them at all. Man, I was really bad at that job--lol.
