I wish them all the best for next year.
Damn! I was not expecting that and came close to having my eyes tear up but yeah... they sound like wonderful people and good for them giving him a lot of time and he will be back so I guess we just remind ourselves that it could be so much worse, huh?

Very well written, ed and yes I wish them all the best as well.

Have a great time at the awards!

That is a hell of a category that he's in. 5 way tie between Iamishwara, Soriano, Puccini, Sakhee’s Soldier and Silent Achiever?

Feel better, good boy.

Congrats to Soriano and her people (and, of course, everyone else! ) !!!!!

How exciting was it, ed?

It was really great - I'm so happy I went. We recognised some fantastic horses and people, and I loved seeing how much it meant to everyone.

Cannot imagine how amazing it must have been and I am so glad you went! I think you would have regretted it if you had not gone and regret SUCKS.

Thanks cause I had not seen the voting and this especially was really interesting... I would have thought it was literally backwards. Shows how much I know!

Off topic but whatever...

I like most of the 40 flag designs but some of the rejects were really funny!

Thoughts? Is it strange changing the flag or is it about time?

The biggest jumping races are in August/September - Amanood Lad has only had one start in 2015, but he won the big ones last year.

I've always been opposed to changing the flag, simply because of how much money the whole process is costing. I feel like that could be used on other things. But I have to say a lot of those designs are really nice.

Interesting and thanks for the answer.

Wow Addictive Habit was fantastic and so were most of the rest of the field!

That was amazing and I feel like it'll take me forever to catch my breath.

Love Pump Up the Volume so very much but how wonderful for Little Alfie Brown! 11 year olds rule haha!

While I do read The Informant on a daily basis I have to include this link to another, inferior place , just because.

Good luck to Habibi today at Woodbine.

That was really nice to see.

I'm confused by the noms for the 6th at Pukekura Raceway on Saturday. Is that a match race or a mistake or am I hallucinating?

That's a bit of a weird one. It's a consolation for the main race on the card, the Interprovincial. So it will fill up with the horses that miss out on the field for that race.

Some fun trials at Taupo and, while they were only trials, it sure was nice to see Graphic looking so good.

Amazing fields for Hastings on Saturday. A wonderful group in the Makfi, and I think the 3yo field is an outstanding line-up as well.

Hasselhoof's making his highly anticipated third start up at Ruakaka too.

The weather is fine at both venues, and the tracks are really good for this time of year. Should be a great day!

I'm covering Ruakaka from home today, but I'll be watching all the Hastings action closely too.

Jeez, hugely impressive win by Serious Satire (More Than Ready-Zarzuela). That's an exciting 3yo filly.
